since the lungs dominate the skin and skin hair, windcold may
obstruct wei yang (qi), causing fever and chills.
Wind has the property of opening the striate or pores, resulting
in sweating. Cold may impair the (lung)
meridian qi flow, leading to cold pain in the shoulder and
back as well as pain in the supraclavicular fossa.
Failure of lung qi to disperse and descend may cause lung
distension, coughing and panting.
Lung qi blockage may cause chest distension and fullness,
and restlessness.
Failure of the lungs to regulate water passage may cause
scanty frequent urination.
Lung qi deficiency causes shortness of breath. Lung yin
deficiency causes feverish sensations on the palms and soles.
