CIT-8920 Conductivity Inductive Transmitter is a high-precision, cost-effective

instrument integrated of conductivity / concentration / TDS / temperature

measurement.It is also a remote transmitter which can match with magnetic induction

conductivity sensor, used to measure the conductivity of conductive ions in the

electrolyte (or percent) .Widely used for continuous measurement of conductivity and

the percentage of of the concentration under the strong ion concentration

environment.

The sensor has the anti-pollution ability to oil pollution and the process coating

medium. There is no electrode plate directly touch the test solution, so there is no

polarization phenomenon. It will not be affected by the coating or the film form;

The sensor material has the advantages of anti-pollution, high temperature and

corrosion resistance;

The transmitter has a local display function, using 128x64 resolution LCD

display as human-computer interaction interface,pure white backlight, and

conductivity / temperature / transmission parameters can be displayed on one screen.

Suitable for industrial production needs of the pipeline, sink and other forms of

installation. This sensor also has a variety of installation methods and accessories,

suitable for different industrial field use.

automatic identification;

Good electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) design, calmly deal with complex

industrial field electromagnetic environment;

1.2 working principle

Inductive conductivity / acid concentration sensor measurement principle is the

use of electromagnetic induction principle to reflect the electrolyte solution

concentration and conductivity of the relationship between the solution to achieve the

concentration measurement. The sensor consists of two coils, an excitation coil

(primary coil) and a measuring coil (secondary coil). When the alternating current

flows through the primary coil, there will be alternating magnetic field in the

immersed solution, and the secondary coil will sense the alternating current generated

by the alternating magnetic field. The magnitude of the induced current is

proportional to the measured medium of the conductivity.

1.3 Applications

Installation Pipeline installation /Plane installation/Immersion

II. Installation
2.1 Transmitter and Sensor

CIT-8920 can be connected with integratedsplit and submerged sensor.

2.1.1 Integrated Installation

CIT-8920 transmit controller can be matched with special mounting fitting,which

can be installed in the pipeline fast,installation steps as below:

-8-
Note: Before inserting the transmitter into the mounting seat, it is necessary to

immerse the front of the sensor with water. It is easy to install by means of water

lubricity, so as to avoid damage to the "O" type seal due to dry friction.

2.1.2 Split Installation

The sensor should be installed directly through the eight-core air socket with

transmitter aviation plug.

-9-
2.1.3 Submerged Installation

The sensor and indicator can realize submerge measurement by using P16-Z

retractable mounting bracket.

2.2 Electrical Installation

Connect the cable Conduction measurement signal can not be mixed with

high-voltage high-frequency cable. If can not be avoided, then should be separated by

at least 30 cm or shielded wire, must use high-quality power supply (after filtering

and adjustment).

Open Locked

PG9 Waterproof Lock Location logo

- 10 -
1. Anticlockwise loosen PG9 waterproof lock put DC24V two core shielded
wire insert suitable length from PG9 waterproof Anticlockwise open the upper
case as the picture shows.
2. DC24V respectively 24V (A), 24V (B), internal automatic polarity recognition, EARTH end
close to the ground, to eliminate interference;
3. After the other wiring is completed, tighten the upper case clockwise, while tightening PG9
waterproof lock mother, positioning logo must be aligned.

2.3 Sensor installation components

The transmitter controller and the inductive sensor are the basic ordering unit,

and the sensor mounting kit is the optional unit. Select the sensor and installation kit

for your sensor according to the measurement object and the scene. Please install

the service before ordering. Please design separately according to your needs.

Inductive sensors and their mounting components are coded as follows:

- 11 -
Note: Split sensors are only available for tubing mounting components, and submerged sensors
are available for wall-mounted components, tank-type mounting assemblies and eco-mount
mounting components.

2.3.3 Installation instructions

1. Please select suitable parts or installation methods during engineering

installation, unsuitable parts or installation methods will cause measuring error;

2. To ensure instantaneity of measurement, ensure liquid flows through the

deflector hole of sensor;

- 13 -
3. Ensure the consistency between sensor deflector hole direction and water

direction in the pipeline during pipe installation, and the gap between the sensor and

the pipe wall should be greater than 20mm.

4. Select flange protective tube while installing pot kettle with stirrer device, avoid

breaking the connecting rod of sensor.

5.While measuring in different mediums, indicate the material quality of sensor,

connector and components according to the Appendix, especially sanitary

requirements or corrosive solution.

unit of ON and OFF: the unit of conductivity means that current configuration of

the relay is the conductivity; the unit of temperature means that current

configuration of the relay is the temperature:

concentration table can be created in this menu.

NaOH and HNO3 concentration stables are internally installed in the

instrument. To measure concentration of NaOH and HNO3, select the concentration

according to the measurement range. To measure concentration of other mediums

and convert the measured value of conductivity into the measured value of

concentration, create a user-defined concentration table for the solution to be

measured. First, prepare the solution with known concentration; then measure the

conductivity value of solution using the instrument; finally input values of solution

concentration and corresponding conductivity in the user-defined setup menu

according to hints on the interface. The instrument will prepare the concentration

curve according to input data. After inputting and saving data and correctly set the

warming coefficient of the medium solution, the instrument can measure the

concentration.

Note: user-defined concentration must contain 2-8 data points (the greater the

number of data points is, the higher the accuracy is). Each point must have a

conductivity value coordinate (X axis) and a corresponding concentration value

coordinate (Y axis). The range of conductivity value is (0-2000)mS/cm. The

conductivity value of each continuous data point must be monotone increasing, and

data of concentration must be inputted by an ascending order or a descending order

(that is, concentration values in the data sheet must be monotone increasing or

monotone decreasing with the increase in the conductivity value).
