NARRATIVE REPORT ON NUTRITION MONTH CELEBRATION

July 25, 2016

As a gesture of showing our support to the governments program, Kitubo National

High School conducted a School-Based Nutrition Month Program last July 25, 2016 with the
support of our school principal Mrs. Teresita C. Miranda together with her faculty and staff.
This years theme is First 1000 Days ni Baby Pahalagahan Para sa Malusog na
Kinabukasan which aims to create awareness on the significance of good maternal
nutrition and proper infant and young child feeding practices, particularly, exclusive
breastfeeding for the 6 months and giving of appropriate complementary foods on the 6th
month while continuing breastfeeding and the continuum of services in early childhood care
and development.
Earlier part of the program, the preparation of food were done by section with the
supervision of their adviser and some of the parents where actively involved. After that,
Handwashing practices were done and followed by supplementary feeding of every student.
Then, Mr. Nathaniel Monredondo, our school nurse administered Deworming by taking
meds to all students except with sickly students and he talked about the significance of
celebrating nutrition month in connection with this years theme and preceded by
Toothbrushing Activity. Likewise with his short message, Mr. Ronello Lagare, RN, NDP-
Nurse spoke out about the School Based Immunization for Grade 7 students by August 2016.
In the afternoon, culmination and awarding program were made. Several activities
and competition were dovetailed and fast tracked. Cooking contests were done during TLE
class with their subject teacher and poster making contest took place at Multi-purpose Hall
during noon break with its one representative each section. Parlor Games, Table Setting
Contest, Flower Arrangement Contest and Fruit/Vegetable Carving Contest were inserted in
the culmination program. Luckily, the winners received awards and rewards for a job well
done.
The celebration had successfully culminated and was enthusiastically enjoyed the
event and went home with the unforgettable experience.
