In line with the campaign of the Department of Education in equipping the school and students with
the knowledge, proper attitude and skills on what to do in case of a natural and man-made disaster like
earthquake, Maramba National High School conducted its quarterly earthquake drill in the school campus on
June 29, 2017 at exactly 2 o clock in the afternoon. Mrs. Asuncion P. Sambajon, the school principal led the
activity with the teachers and their respective classes . All grade levels occupied the designated area for
them. Before the conduct of the earthquake drill, Mam Sambajon and the coordinator instructed/oriented all
the students and teachers of what to do if there is an earthquake. On June 29, 2017 a sound from the base
drum blurted for one minute as a signal that an earthquake is currently happening. Everybody in their
respective classes ducked and covered themselves under their armchairs and tables. After that, the advisers
led their classes in heading to the designated areas located in front of the Principals Office and Library. They
were grouped together according to the class where they belong and all the advisers did a headcount to
make sure that all students are accounted for.
The earthquake drill was successfully done and nobody was injured.
