RE: APPLICATION FOR A JOB AS HEAD OF MISSION.

With reference to the current advertisement for the above position I apply to express my keen interest to
serve your organization as a Head of Mission.
I am a graduate of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology with a B.Sc. Horticulture
degree and holder of several project management course certifications and on-job trainings. I have held
several positions as a Senior Program Officer Commodities with previous experience as a Country
Program Manager, Programme officer - Livelihoods and Resilience, Livelihoods Program Manager and
Trade & Markets Manager for various donor funded projects in Kenya, Somalia and South Sudan.

Through these experiences I have acquired strong skills in project management and compliance,
livelihoods and resilience, strategic partnerships, value chain development, agricultural production and
standards, extension services, cash based programming, humanitarian affairs and emergency
programming, contingency planning, international core standards, donor liaisons, reporting, design,
monitoring and evaluations, trade and market development, SMEs, food assistance, gender and youth
integration and economic empowerment for communities.
In my work I have been responsible for providing technical support for the design and implementation
of start-up workshops for project preparedness, capacity building for staff and representation of
organizations in the various sector clusters and technical working groups.

As the program technical lead I hold a coordination role with peer organization, government agencies
and stakeholders which has led to greater success and cross learning across programs. I am also
competent in proposal development, budget preparation and handling; and overall organization of
development activities. I have also been able to acquire security training in Hostile Environment
Awareness Training (HEAT), personal security and security management.

With strong skills in the mentioned sectors combined with my extensive experience in planning,
executing, monitoring, and leading multi-functional projects and teams, this makes me ideally suited to
this role. I am a highly organized and self-motivated person, with excellent interpersonal,
communication and computer skills, and thrive in diverse work environments. A solid team player, I
works to tight deadlines and has plenty of initiatives.
