These raw materials depend on the seasons, during the season of sugarcane Bighas is used as raw
material. During the season of wheat, its straw is used.

Main processes used in the cleaning of straw &components:

Blowing of straw inside:


First of all, straw is manually pushed onto belt conveyer which is rotating at moderate pace. A
blower placed at the upper end of the duct shown in the layout which causes suction and sucks
light weight straw inside remaining hard pieces and any stone kind material down to the
reservoir.

Dedusting chamber:
Guide screens are used to settle down straw on to the shaker. Shaker has poured surface.
Below shaker there are two types of exhauster .one type is grain exhauster and other one is
straw exhauster. Above shaker there are dust screens which removes dust arousing during
shaking of straw. When shaker starts shaking, tiny pieces of straw poured down to grain
exhauster and slight enriched sized straw is passed toward straw exhauster.

Cyclones:
During the working of shaker, arousing dust is removed through rotatory actions of dust
screener. screen cleaning brushes are available which timely clean screens. Dust is passed
toward cyclone which has water shower. Upon showering of water dust is settled down. This
give us benefit of clean environment.

Secondary cleaning:
Blower is used again in secondary cleaning which sucks through air pressure straw toward setup
of secondary cleaning which is wet cleaning. It has only one difference in comparison with
primary cleaning is it did not have gain exhauster. Remaining all components remains same.

Feeding section:
Feeding section consists of four sections which are surrounded by steam coils for heating
purpose. Sulphur is poured into feeding section in the form of pits. It produces fumes of
Sulphur which are then supplied to dozing pump which is used to pump fumes into furnace.
Whole duct is covered by steam covering so that Sulphur fumes remains heated. Before the
entry to furnace setup consist of steam tube, air tube, and Sulphur fumes and for initially
ignition in the furnace spray of compressed diesel.

Furnace section:
Furnace receives continuously supply of air for burning purpose, Sulphur fumes. Sulphur
chemically reacts with air to produce Sulphur dioxide.

As the construction of furnace is concerned, outer layer of furnace is mild steel, after that there
are three layers of insulation bricks, and at the inside most there are two layers of fire bricks.
The purpose of these insulations is to absorb heat not to radiate to environment.
We can achieve temperature range of 500 to 1500 celcius. Furnace at the end produces Sulphur
dioxide.

Cooling tower:
Sulphur dioxide heated upto 1160 celcius. To cool down the temperature of SO2 it is passed to
the cooling tower. Sulphur dioxide cooled down to 60-65 degree celcius.
In the construction of cooling tower, there is asbestos layer after that there are two layers of
acid proof bricks. For the clearances to fill binding material is used. A strainer is placed in the
cooling tower which contain rashes when heated Sulphur dioxide passed through cooling tower
it heats these rashes. Above that setup there is shower of water to cool these rashes.

Neutralization chamber& Storage tank:


In neutralization chamber caustic soda is mixed with Sulphur dioxide which produces sodium
sulphate releasing carbon dioxide. Neutralization chamber is provided with agitator with has
impeller like shaft which continuously rotate mixer. This mixer is then stored to the storage
tank.

Scrubbing filler:
Released carbon dioxide is cooled down and mixed with water to produce sulphuric acid and
other impurities are contained in this chamber.
