INVERSE POSITION AZIMUTH AND PATH DISTANCE CALCULATIONS

Azimuth calculations must first be considered in order to calculate the

horizontal bearing corrections of the passive repeaters. The calculations for the
azimuth are as follows:

Passive Repeater Bearing Calculation

In order to obtain 1 and 2, the students utilized the azimuth angles by each of
the two passive repeaters in order to calculate the values for 1 and 2, respectively.
The calculations are as follows:
Considering the first passive repeater
Obtain the height of the elevation AMSL of the passive repeater and the
transmitting end
Using the properties of transversals, calculate the angle of elevation from
the bottom of the higher elevation to its peak

Considering the second passive repeater

Obtain the height of the elevation AMSL of the passive repeater and the
receiving end
Using the properties of transversals, calculate the angle of elevation from
the bottom of the higher elevation to its peak

Tables 1 and 2 below show the calculation of the face angle and the horizontal
correction angle. The table used was adopted from the format provided by [1]
(microflect ito).
