Introduction

The article “Schools of Future” is written by Ruth Wong, in January

1972. In this article the writer has depicted the idea that how future
education will take leading curve in schools of future. It is predicted
that in future, schools will develop a good supportive learning
environment which will benefit both student and the teacher.

Executive Summary
In future, the schools will develop a team for the teachers which will
comprise of a master teacher, two or more fellow teachers & their
assistants who will aid them in carrying their routine instructional
activities.

The class size will not be longer than 15 pupils, thus enabling them to
gain more attention from the teachers & allowing them to assess their
growth & learning capacity. It will also provide greater opportunity to
ask questions and offer better class participation.

The organization of instruction will also provide a great deal more time
for independent study which will permit them to acquire more depth
and interest within a particular field of study. The students will also be
given projects which will no longer be referred to in terms of class work
or homework but will encourage them to make choices and decisions
of their own.

Such diversified instructions will introduce the flexibility into core

curriculum of the organization and time management. The set of
courses will be so ordered that there will be the essential core for all
studies literacy, numeracy and other skills to keep them fit physically,
mentally and morally. But above all these, the pupil’s interest will
remain wide-ranging and comprehensive.

The teacher skills will be more broaden than today such that each one
would be able to execute a well-versed way of instructional activities
involving different branches of study.

With various trend of innovations in educational life style, there exists

a possibility that Mass education will gain popularity through various
other mediums such as Internet television, pre-recorded materials, e-
learning etc. There will be centre set up as district base to which
students may go if specific counseling is required. Students may also
use the video conferencing tools from their home stations to this
district centre where they could contact their supervising teachers.
Similarly different workshops and discussion sessions could also be
conducted in assigned localities as well.

Conclusions & recommendations

It is anticipated that the schools of tomorrow will no longer use
conventional approaches towards education. There will be enormous
development in all areas of learning, teaching, coaching; training
process that will help new generations to adapt new mode of
knowledge transfer. In short, the future of schools is bright.
