Dear Hiring Principal,

It is my sincere pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Lisa Bryant. I was very fortunate
to have the opportunity to work with Lisa during her student teaching assignment in a full-day kindergarten
program at Georgetown Elementary School, under my direction. Georgetown School has a very diverse
student population, both culturally and economically.
By promoting an environment that is based on trust and mutual respect, Miss Bryant develops
positive relationships with her students. She is eager to meet individual students' needs. Miss Bryant
consistently ensures all students are actively participating in the lesson by identifying students who are
off-task and redirecting them appropriately. To foster a sense of classroom unity, Miss Bryant implements a
daily "Morning Meeting" activity in which she facilitates discussions regarding the use of appropriate
social skills and managing emotions. The students have responded very well to this new structure and enjoy
being able to discuss their feelings. Miss Bryant helps individual students set goals and become reflective
learners.
Miss Bryant is a very organized teacher and puts a great deal of thought into her planning. She
takes students' background knowledge into account when planning her lessons. She anticipates potential
misconceptions and issues that may occur during the lesson activities and proactively builds in appropriate
routines and structures to ensure the lessons run smoothly. Miss Bryant is a natural when it comes to
creating unique lesson plans. She is keenly aware of the diverse learning styles of both the individual
students and the class as a whole. This is evident in her lessons as she continually incorporates a variety of
activities that foster a high level of learning, such as whole group instruction, partner sharing activities,
story reenactment, and exploration with hands-on materials. She has a very caring, respectful demeanor
with each of the students. Miss Bryant encourages them to always try their best and lets them know she is
there to help when needed.
Miss Bryant consistently communicates the goal of each lesson so that students always understand
the learning objective(s). She structures the units so the lessons build upon each other and follow a logical
sequence. Miss Bryant differentiates her instruction to meet individual student's needs, both during whole
group lessons and independent practice/assessment. She incorporates formative and summative assessments
into her lessons. Miss Bryant uses assessment data to drive her future instruction.
Miss Bryant displays a great deal of enthusiasm for learning, which motivates students to engage
in her lessons. She sets clear expectations for behavior and how students should respond to questions
during whole group discussions and independent work time. Miss Bryant continually reinforces positive
behavior throughout the lessons and independent practice. Miss Bryant incorporates various questioning
techniques throughout her lessons to ensure comprehension and develop students' critical thinking skills.
She uses students' responses to identify any concepts that may require further explanation.
Miss Bryant is a very reflective, professional teacher candidate! She seeks out feedback and does
not hesitate to implement any suggestions that are given. Miss Bryant actively researches Best Practice
teaching strategies and demonstrates a strong commitment to the teaching profession. She builds positive
relationships with the teachers, school staff, and most importantly, the children.
It is without reservation that I recommend Lisa Bryant for an elementary school teaching position.
Her dedication, enthusiasm, and skills would make her a wonderful asset to any teaching staff.
