Five Tigers (Wu Hu)

Five Tigers 11.01 (Maher)

Wu Hu 11.27 (Young)

Location
Five points located on the A line of the proximal phalangeal joint of the thumb. Point 1 (also
called Yi) is the most distal of the grouping. Point 5 (Wu) is the most proximal. Yi/1 is located
right at the proximal edge of the interphalangeal knuckle joint while Wu/5 is located at the distal
margin of the MCP joint. Point 3 (San) is the mid points between 1 and 5.

Needle it perpendiculary.

Indications
Use all five points for general swelling in the body and joints. Use it if you have a patient that
complains of all their joints hurting (like osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis patients). This
series of points is in the reaction area of the Spleen (drains damp) and the Kidneys (which treat
bones). And thats why that works.

Wu Hu 1 (most distal) to treat pain in the head.

Wu Hu 2 to treat finger pain and wrist pain.
Wu Hu 3 is a supplemental point. Use it like a dao ma point to enhance the others.
Wu Hu 4 and 5 treat dorsal pain of the foot and heal. Use them together most of the
time.

Notes
You dont have to use all five at the same time. You can target specific areas if you need to. Dr.
Robert Chu has developed a point series called Zhu Wu Hu on the big toe that he has
discovered treats the same things. Do exactly this, but on the big toe.
