ADMISSION notice for the 2017-18

Admission Notice
Admission 2017 shall be conducted online

Application in different B.A/B.Sc. Honours and General subjects and Admission on


the basis of merit shall be done online. Students need not to come to the college
for admission. Admitted students have to come to the college campus only for the
verification of testimonials after admission and not before that.

All dates given are tentative dates subject to change.

Applicants are instructed to check website in a regular interval for


any updates.

Admission forms for the session 2017-18 will be available from 31.05.17 (midnight)
to 09.06.2017 (midnight) on websites :

www.ddmcadmission.in
and
www.dumdummotijheelcollege.in

All information regarding admission forms and online submission shall be available
on either of these pages and under the 'Admission notice' link.

Students from all boards such as ISC, CBSE, West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary
Education and different boards of other states in India are eligible for admission to this
college. Overseas students with their fully published results are also welcome.

Applicants are required to pay application fees either through online mode of
payment or to deposit the fees at any branch of ICICI Bank in West Bengal through
cash only on presentation of challan (Bank copy) which can be downloaded after
submitting forms online.

Banks wont receive any fees after 09.06.2017.


Online payment option will be available till 10.06.2017

Application forms will not be valid unless payment is made

The price of each Application form is Rs. 200/- only.


The candidates do not have to submit the college copy of the bank challan to the
college immediately after online submission of the form. They are instructed to
keep the challan with themselves and submit it at the college only at the time of
verification of testimonials after the admission and not prior to that.

* Applicants for the General stream need not deposit the application fees during
online application. Their application fees will be deducted during admission.

** Students interested for the General stream can take their admission at the very
next day of their application.
Admission will be conducted strictly on the basis of merit

Minimum Criteria for Application


1. A candidate taking up Honours Course in a subject must have obtained:

(i) A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the
subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination

Or,

(ii) 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying
examination.
2. However, candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe
Community taking up Honours Course of study must have obtained a minimum of
40% marks in the aggregate and 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at
the previous qualifying examination, as the case may be.

3. A candidate shall be allowed to take up the subject (s) under heading A if


he/she had passed the subject (s) under heading B at the previous qualifying
examination.

To take up Honours in any subject, the candidate has to pass in that subject or
any related subject in the H.S. examination. In the above table, in general,
subject and related subject are given under the columns A and B. However, the
following restrictions supersede the previous clause.

(i) Economics: A candidate shall be allowed to take up Honours in Economics if he/she


has passed in Mathematics/Business Mathematics at the H.S. Examination. However, a
student pursuing Honours in Economics need not necessarily take Mathematics
as a combination subject.
(ii) Mathematics: a candidate, who has passed Mathematics (and not Business
Mathematics) at H.S. level, is eligible for admission to Mathematics Honours course.
(iii) Microbiology: Students studying Honours in Microbiology will have to take
elective subjects from the following list: Chemistry and Mathematics/ Physics /
Botany/Zoology/Physiology
(iv) Education/Sociology: Subjects Psychology, Philosophy, Mathematics, Sociology,
Education, Economics, Political Science, History be treated as related subject.
(v) Philosophy: Subject Psychology is a related subject.

Subject combinations available

B.A. General
A student has to select three subjects taking one from each of the following groups :
Group - I Group - II Group - III
El. English Philosophy Economics
El. Bengali Journalism Sociology
History Geography Sanskrit
Human Dev. Political Science Education
[Note : Geography (Gr. II) and Economics (Gr. III) cannot be taken simultaneously. No Science subjects viz.
Geography (Gr. II) and Economics (Gr. III) will be allowed along with Human Development (Gr. I).
B.A. Honours
The students may choose any one of the following as honours subject.
i) English, ii) Bengali, iii) History, iv) Philosophy, v) Political Science, vi) Journalism & Mass
Communication.
Along with the Honours subjects the student has to select any two subjects from Gr. I, Gr. II
and Gr. III as optional paper(general).
[Note : Geography (Gr. II) and Economics (Gr. III) cannot be taken simultaneously. No Science subjects viz.
Geography (Gr. II) and Economics (Gr. III) will be allowed along with Human Development (Gr. I).
B.Sc. General
Any one group from the following list can be chosen.
Group A : Maths, Physics, Chemistry/Electronics
Group B : Maths, Physics, Computer Science.
Group C : Maths, Statistics, Economics.
Group D : Botany, Zoology, Chemistry/Molecular Biology.

B.Sc. Honours
