Beloit memorial hospital annual report
A t Beloit Memorial Hospital, we are committed to making a difference. We see
these positive results in our patient outcomes, read about it in patient satisfaction
surveys, and hear about it in their words of appreciation. However, sometimes it’s
the differences that can’t be seen that make the biggest impact on a community.

We all have family, friends, and neighbors who have benefited from the medical
experts at Beloit Memorial Hospital. Whether they come to us with major health
concerns such as cancer or heart disease, or a smaller medical concern such as a high
fever or broken finger: the people we treat live and raise families in our community.
Our teachers, our business people, our grandmothers, and our preschoolers are the
important people who come to us with their illnesses.

nce.
At this time, we are committed to one of the largest projects we have undertaken
to provide greater access to care for everyone in our community. The $11.6 million
expansion of our Emergency Room will assure that anyone who comes to us in need
will be seen by our board certified emergency room physicians or other highly skilled
staff. We will soon have 16 additional treatment rooms, a larger ambulance garage,
more spacious waiting areas and the improved technology to timely treat your
emergency needs. This is our continuing commitment to you.

In our stateline area, it’s all about making a difference. Whether you have insurance or
not, are on Medicare or Medicaid, or speak English or another language, our job is to
treat you with respect and skill. We want a healthy community for our residents and
our future. Your health is our greatest concern.

our hospital’s Family Care Center. Our four OB/GYN physicians and specially-
trained nurses offer exceptional care to moms, babies, and families who are
there to celebrate a birth. Birthing Education classes are offered and give your
baby the best opportunity for good health. Our new moms love their delivery
experiences at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

ER The $11.6 million expansion and renovation of the hospital’s Emergency

Room is well underway. The three-phase construction plan will enlarge the
number of rooms, add a Fast Track area, create new triage and waiting areas for
greater efficiency, and provide crucial access to healthcare for those who need
it. Our ER is a safety net for those who may otherwise suffer without healthcare.

Beloit memorial hospital foundation report 17

For more than 20 years, donors to Beloit Memorial Hospital Foundation
have been the critical link in making a major difference in healthcare
services for stateline area residents, and 2008 was no exception.
The Foundation received $561,534 in gifts and contributions thanks
to the generosity of individuals, businesses, civic groups, service
organizations and charitable foundations. The annual Pro-Am Golf
Tournament generated $137,000 in support of our new Emergency
Room, and our wonderful Volunteers in Partnership made a significant
contribution of $125,000 to the GI Suite remodeling. Thanks to so many
caring individuals, the Foundation was able to distribute $435,536
to Beloit Memorial Hospital in support of more than 27 key hospital
programs and services.
We are very grateful to all of our donors for their tremendous support,
especially in these challenging times. Clearly, it is our donors who make 2008 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
the real difference in our community. Each gift reflects the donor’s Jerome Elliott, Chair
