source is great for explaining a lot of concepts about my overall topic of global warming.
It focuses both on air and water pollution. For air pollution, it breaks it down by
explaining how it effects different layers of the atmosphere. Additionally, it explains the
different sources and how it effects people, marine life, and ecosystems throughout Earth.
It also guides the reader through legal aspects of pollution and environmentalism. All of
these topics are ones that I can surely use throughout my paper.

researchers want the most up-to-date information, this portion of the website is most
useful. It compares what is happening with climate change and global warming in 2006
and now. It talks about solar power, carbon emissions, electric cars, rising surface
temperatures, and rising sea levels. It also speaks briefly about the Paris Agreement and

This source is great for dealing with legislature and legal aspects of environmentalism
and global warming. It also focuses primarily on the United States, which my paper is
focused on as well. It gives information on state and regional legislation. It also talks
specifically about the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, the Western Climate Initiative,
and the Midwestern Greenhouse Gas Accord. At the end of the source, it also gives
both man made and natural, but all are affecting Earth. This article explains the different
types of pollution and how it is effecting climate change and global warming.

CEO of the number one coal mining company, Robert Murray, believes that global
warming is a hoax. He is backed by Donald Trump, the president of the United States.

Greenland are just some of the places where they are seeing significant levels of water

tweeted out in November of 2012. This was a main point for Hillary Clinton's campaign
during this years election. Even though he tweeted this 5 years ago, it is still relevant
today as he still believes this. This is a counter argument to the point my essay is trying to
prove. The president of the United States is a very influential person so many people

"This very expensive GLOBAL WARMING bullshit has got to stop. Our planet is
freezing, record low temps and our GW scientists are stuck in ice." This is where readers
Global warming is when the Earths temperature has either significantly increased or
decreased over a short period of time (Mehling). This phenomenon has effected many
Americans, as it plays a role in the everyday lives of readers. Global warming impacts more
people than the big government, such as coal company CEOs, etc., says it does. There is so
much evidence out there that proves the climate is changing and that it could be effecting not
only Americans, but everyone across the globe. Between rise sea levels, rising surface
temperatures, and carbon dioxide levels, the United States should be on high alert.
The main cause of global warming is the increase of greenhouse gases locked into Earths
surface. The Earth is naturally kept warm by some greenhouse gases that come through when the
sun shines. However, when people drive cars or burn coal, this adds a tremendous amount of
extra greenhouse gases that can not escape and heat of the Earth more than it should be causing a
explanation for the record breaking high temperatures around the country.
Pollution plays a great role in global warming. All things including, sewage, exhaust,
trash, agricultural and lawn chemicals, industrial and power plant emissions and more
(Pollutants) are types of pollutants that people use in their everyday lives. The most relevant
type of pollutant is carbon dioxide, a gas that is the product of human activities such as burning
fossil fuels (primarily oil, natural gas and coal) for our vehicles, heat and power generation
(Pollutants). Carbon emissions account for between 6576 percent of the greenhouse gases
from human activity, causing the Earth's temperature to rise at its fastest rate in millions of
years (An Inconvenient Truth). In 2006, atmospheric CO2 levels were 382 ppm and jumped
up to 404 in 2016. That is a 5.5% increase in only 10 years (An Inconvenient Truth). This
causes more greenhouse gases, which then causes the Earths ground temperature to rise higher
Not only has there been an increase in carbon dioxide levels, but there has also been a
rise in sea levels. This means that there is more water in the oceans. The extra water is coming
from melting ice bergs and ice caps that can not stay frozen. from June 2006 to January 2016,
sea levels increased about 41.24 millimeters (1.62 inches), (An Inconvenient Truth). This can
effect major cities on the coast lines. Rising sea levels can cause massive flooding and make
tropical storms worse for the people living on the coast. Below is a graphic that represents the
Even though it might seem hard to deny that this phenomenon is occurring, there are
people who believe that global warming is a hoax. Donald Trump, the president of the United
States, has tweeted numerous times about how he does not believe in climate change or global
warming. For example, The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in
order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive, (Donald Trump Tweet). This made many
people believe that the Chinese just created it and that it is not real. He also tweeted, This very
expensive GLOBAL WARMING bullshit has got to stop. Our planet is freezing, record low
temps and our GW scientists are stuck in ice, (Global Warming Tweet). This was a more
blatant confession. As he calls it this global warming bullshit, many readers are impressed with
his blatancy and see it as a sign of innocent honesty. Donald Trump is one of the few presidents
to back big coal businesses. His buddy Robert Murray, the CEO of Murray Energy, held an
interview with CNBC host Joe Kernen. Murray says in the interview that Earth has been
cooling for 20 years and that he has 4000 scientists to back him up (Murray and Kernen).
American people can be very impressionable and seeing this well-off CEO talk about how this
concept is all fake can influence that people of America and how they view this concept as well.
In conclusion, global warming is brought upon by many reasons and can effect and
person in the world. Because of increasing temperatures, ocean levels, and carbon dioxide
emissions, planet Earth needs help. Many people do not see the signs of global warming, but in
the long run it is a very serious issue. There will always be people to disagree, but they have their
