In this bulletin you will hear about some of
the work Inclusion North is doing and
information about what is happening across
the country.

Administrator (Care and Treatment Review Hub)
Salary: Up to 18,500 pro rata Actual 9,866.67

About the Administrator (CTR Hub) Job


Inclusion North operates a Care and Treatment
Review (CTR) hub which provides Expert Advisers
and Clinical Advisers to Care and Treatment
Reviews (and Care, Education and Treatment
Reviews) across Yorkshire and Humber and the
North East. NHS Commissioners use the Hub to
ensure that there is an independent voice within the
CTR process.
The hub recruits, trains and supports people to take
on the role of Expert Adviser and Clinical Adviser
within CTRs organised by local area
commissioners. Our pool of Advisers is made up of
people with a learning disability, family carers and
professionals with relevant experience.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Administrator to support the Hub. The successful
applicant will be responsible all the administrative
tasks of the Hub, working with the Advisers and
commissioners to deliver a high quality, well-
organised service.
This crucial job in our team will:

Provide the administration of Inclusion Norths


CTR Hub to coordinate the booking of Expert
Advisers and Clinical Advisers for CTRs
across Yorkshire and Humber and the North
East
Contribute to Inclusion North adding significant
value to the efforts of people with a learning
disability, their families, local commissioners
and providers in implementing government
policy, and best practice to achieve inclusion

We are seeking a person with excellent


organisational and administrative skills, who can
also communicate really effectively with people, and
adapt their style to meet different needs.

references, and undertake an enhanced DBS check

Salary: Up to 32,000 pro rata Actual 15,786.67
Hours: 18.5 hours a week (permanent contract)
Base: Home based with the ability to travel
regularly to the Leeds office, and across
the North East, Yorkshire and Humber

About the Project Support Coordinator (CTR


Hub) Job
Inclusion North operates a Care and Treatment
Review (CTR) hub which provides Expert Advisers
and Clinical Advisers to Care and Treatment
Reviews (and Care, Education and Treatment
Reviews) across Yorkshire and Humber and the
North East. NHS Commissioners use the Hub to
ensure that there is an independent voice within the
CTR process. Our pool of Advisers is made up of
people with a learning disability, family carers and
professionals with relevant experience.

Our aim is to develop the Hub to provide experts


with lived experience to support Local Authorities,
Clinical Commissioning Groups and other
stakeholders to support co-production across all
aspects of service development that affect people
with a learning disability. The post holder will have a
key role in supporting this development.

The successful applicant will be responsible for


coordinating the recruitment, training and support of
the Advisers, and working closely with
commissioners to deliver a high quality, well-
organised service. They will ensure the work of the
Hub meets the requirements of national policy and
guidance, and be responsible for ensuring the Hub
meets national quality standards. They will lead the
team of Advisers, being their first point of contact,
and will help to develop the work of the Hub based
on the changing needs of commissioners.

We are seeking a person with excellent


interpersonal skills, significant experience of leading
successful project work, and a proven track record
of leading and supporting a team to achieve its
goals.

Talking Travel update
What does Talking Travel aim to do?

Get good information about what is happening


to help people with learning disabilities travel
around.
Bring people together from across the North
East to share good ideas and the work we are
doing.
Have a stronger voice in saying how to make
travel better for people with learning
disabilities.
Work on projects that we think will help people
with learning disabilities travel around more
easily. We will think about all issues such as
money, peoples attitudes, the environment
and where people live.
Think about what we can do to help people feel
safe when they are travelling.

What has Talking Travel done?

Strengthened the connections around the


region. We are now connected to NECA (North
East Combined Authority), TVCA (Tees Valley
Combined Authority), Nexus, Local Authority
Taxi Licencing, Local Authority Independent
Travel, bus companies, rail companies, self
advocacy and special interest groups.

Promoted the use of easy read versions of


transport consultations.
Taken part in Nexus and NECA consultations
and the thinking Arriva did around developing
their bus for the future.

Visited a local bus depot.

Connected interested groups and individuals to


support one another with their local work.

Shared information on the development of Safe


Places across the region.

Got the support of bus and train stations to


help people look around and get used to where
things are and how they work.

Direct answers from transport services to


questions from people using these services.

Discussed peoples experiences and ideas to


improve travel and transport in the region.

What is next for Talking Travel?


Support the work Bus Champion, Paul Casson is
doing to promote priority use of the wheelchair
space on buses. For more information go to

Work with Grand Central trains around the idea of


mystery shoppers and opportunities for travel
training using their services.

Look at the development of a volunteer role for


people with learning disabilities to support other bus
passengers.
Follow up on idea for no abuse signs to be on
buses.
Develop a step by step resource to support and
encourage people to travel in the region.

Hold workshops for people to learn and practice


how to use timetables, mobile apps, plan a journey
etc.

Get involved with training for

bus drivers, managing priority use of the


wheelchair space on buses
rail customer service staff, in emergency or
disruption situations

development of this work over the past year.
