One of the key fundamental of UN is to promote and to defend the international security
and peace. Arab Saudi, believes that Syrian refugees is an urgent situation that need immediate
human rights and humanity action, so that Saudi opens up the door and take 500.000 refugees
into 31 million population of Saudi Arabia by the end of 2016. 1,2 By the estimates of IGA, Saudi
could take in 3 million refugees. The kingdoms' need for labor presents a potentially win-win
situation for both Syrians and the country.1 Instead the needs of labor, Saudi believes that
accepting refugees continuously will leads to overpopulated refugees, as a result, the refugees
can be a national security threat and bother the peace of Saudis citizen itself in the future. Saudi
has to consider the possibility of ethnical prejudice which leads to ethnical violence. Also, they
keep asking for law protection and fulfill their needs of economy, while in another side they have
no citizenship which means they have no obligation toward Saudi, no responsible side to
guarantee their total life and what they probably do. Moreover Saudi Arabia welcomed refugees
over all this time and it did not force them to leave or detain those whose visa expired, this
condition will incriminate Saudi which in the end cannot prosecute from any country if there is
any unwanted situation which is bother the peace of the citizen and threat their security.
To achieve the purpose according to 1951 Convention On Refugees and Its 1967
Protocol, refugees deserves the same standard of treatment given to other foreign nationals in a
given country, and in many cases, the same as nationals, and to keep the national security, Saudi
believes that it is necessary to limit the immigrants to come in and live inside Saudi because
Saudi cannot be the alternative home forever. Saudi is not an enormous economic power like
Germany who can contain more immigrants in such huge number, so that Saudi cannot provide
or guarantee a proper life for every single refugee if their number keep raising. By creating a
limitation, Saudi can focused to open better opportunities for the 500.000-refugee to have better
life including economic, health, education, or even law protection. Saudi can share other asylum
seekers around Europe fairly. Saudi should also observe the growth of the refugee in regards to
monitoring extreme numbers of refugees. These consideration will bring national stability while
Saudi keep accepting the refugees.1
