lWar had lasted 10 years.

The Trojan Horse
The Greeks constructed a huge
wooden horse, and hid a select force of
men inside. The Greeks pretended to sail
away, and the Trojans pulled the horse
into their city as a victory trophy. That
night the Greek force crept out of the
horse and opened the gates for the rest of
the Greek army, which had sailed back
under cover of night. The Greeks entered
and destroyed the city of Troy, decisively
ending the war.

suitors are trying to marry Penelope
Odysseus heads to Ithaca but the wind
takes him to Ismarus. There his army
celebrates too early and feel asleep. Then
they are assaulted by the locals and most
of them die.
Survivors go back to sea and face heavy
storms that take them to the Calypso
Island.
ODYSSEY: ESSAY PROMPTS 100 Points
1. One way to interpret The Odyssey is as an allegory for life's
journey. In an organized essay, describe how two of
Odysseus's adventures can be interpreted in this light.
What is symbolic about each? What lessons can we learn
through Odysseus as he makes his way home?
2. In an organized essay, explain how some of the challenges
and obstacles Odysseus faces and the choices he makes
are similar to those you have encountered in, or will
encounter, in your future? How are they different?
3. Odysseus is an admirable hero because he uses strategy
instead of strength to overcome many obstacles. In an
organized essay, analyze two events where Odysseus uses
his intellectual powers over his strength and share what
this tells you about the concept of a hero.
