Make Room For God

Isaiah 54:1-5 each of us must come to the place in our lives where we make room for God. It
must be a conscious, deliberate act on our part. We tend to control Him right out of the picture, yet He
has put within each of us the capability of growth and excellence. He has given us His grace to perform
His will. So what is His will toward us? The answer to this is multi-faceted. As a good Father, he has
many things in His heart for us as His own children. To begin with, it is His will for us to believe on
the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved and have a personal relationship with Him. John 6:39 & 40 every
gift we have from God will not be misplaced and every person who believes on the Lord Jesus will not
be lost, but He will raise us up in that day. Don’t worry: He knows exactly where you are!
Another thing the Lord will do is build again the tabernacle of David (Acts 15:16-18). Much
needs to be said about this, but at another time. This has to do with His kingdom, His place in the
world, and His choosing. His kingdom must be built and we must make room for it in our hearts. We
must make room for God in our lives. We must clear out the clutter of our past failures, past
insecurities, and past experiences, in order to have the room for new experiences with the Lord and His
kingdom. Sometimes, we need to be willing to move past old teachings that could not bring us into the
rest He has prepared for us. We were told we can not have the things God prepared for the early
church, but this is not so. They either lied to you or did not know themselves the things God has
prepared for the church in these last days. Open your heart to the will and purpose of God. Let Him
bring you into a new day!
In looking at a concordance there were several things listed. Among them is I Thessalonians
4:3-6, “For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from
fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and
honor; not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: That no man
go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all
such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.” That’s a lot to look at, and we know if you truly
want to do His will, He will help you with each of these things. What He’s saying here is to keep your
hearts and minds clean of the clutter of the things the world tries to ram down your throat through the
media and every avenue of life. We can be free from the things that are bad for our spiritual well-being.
Make room for God in your mind, in your actions, in your every day life, and you will find He will
always be near to hear your prayers.
What is His will? I Thessalonians 5:18 “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God
in Christ Jesus concerning you.” This is a daily mind-set of being grateful and expressing it to others.
Don’t assume they know: tell them. Make room for God to flow from you to others. Being thankful is a
gift from God. It is a learned expression that is beneficial to both the giver and receiver. Put it into
practice and it will serve you all the days of your life. Thankfulness is the oil that keeps relationships
moving freely. It stops friction and cools things down. It must be expressed by all and received by all in
order to properly function. Hebrews 10:16 tells us He will put His laws (food for grazing; regulations;
principles) into our minds (deep thoughts; imaginations; understanding) and inscribe them upon our
hearts (the seat of authority in our lives). How do you view things? If you make room for God, He will
inscribe His ways on the way you think, react, and handle things. Give Him time and space in your life
and He will make everything beautiful in His time.
Make room for God, for if you do, He will draw near to you. If you prepare a place in your life
for Him, he will fill it with His presence. He will receive what you give Him. If you give Him a little,
you will have a little bit of God’s life in you. If you give Him your all, you will have all things and
abound!
“Enlarge the place of thy tent…” This is speaking of the tabernacle, or the kingdom of God;
not just our personal space. Though God is very interested in what happens in your life, He also is
concerned greatly with His kingdom in this world. There is a difference between offerings and tithes. A
tithe belongs to the storehouse: the place you regularly attend church services. It is with the tithes that
the people support the work of God in the community. Offerings are things given beyond the tithe. If
the support is not there in the House of God it is difficult to enlarge the tent. So it is a work of faith on
the part of the church and on the part of the supporters. God is requiring from everyone to be a part.
Pray about this. Don’t just say in your heart, “I can’t do what it says so I will stop going.” Pray and ask
the Lord to put the means in your hands to fulfill this part of the Word and He will make a way! Make
the room for God to move and He will! Enlarge your heart; enlarge the place you are located in. Pray
about the things of God and ask Him to help you be that part. Simply pray about your prayer life, your
finances, your interaction with others, the light He gave you to carry in this world. God will answer!
Make room for His blessings, His character, his will in your life and you will never be the same!
Goodness and mercy will follow all the days of your life.

Dear Friend,
I hope this study blesses you, knowing that as we draw near to God He will draw to us! Make
the room in your life for Him and give Him your all. This is the key to living for Him and having His
protection. You can do it, my friend!
Remember, I’m praying for you and I know you will do more than what is written here. Have a
great week!
