The standards for College and Career Readiness (CCR) serve
as the backbone for the practice pages in this book. These
broad standards were developed to establish educational
expectations meant to provide students nationwide with a
quality education that prepares them for college and careers.
The following lists show how the activities in this book align
with the standards in key areas of focus for students in
grade 2.

Getting Started
Each practice packet consists of two double-sided
pagesone for reading followed by one for math.
Introduce the packet to your child by going through
the directions and walking through its features.
Point out that activities in each section focus on
different kinds of skills, and that the same features
repeat throughout, always in the same order and
position. In general, the practice pages progress
in difficulty level and build on skills covered on
previous pages. See pages 69 for more information.

Helpful Tips
For ease of use, gently tear out the pages your child will
be working on along the perforated edges.

Invite your child to complete each packet over the Number Math
