2 Warm-up exercise:

AIMS:* to warm the SS up;

*to increase awareness and develop memory ;

*to develop creativity and confidence.

Procedure: handouts with missing words from the lyrics of U2s

song ONE are given ;the SS are asked to listen to the song ( twice if

necessary) and complete it ( working in pairs) they are asked if they

have any knowledge of the band ,the type of music they play or if they

have heard the song before.

Interaction :pairwork,T-SS,SS-Tthe teacher monitors and elicits

feed back;

Competences:Listening to,Writing,Reading

Time:5 minutes.

3 INTRODUCING THE NEW THEME:

AIMS:*to introduce the new topic

*to learn new vocabulary

Procedure:* discussing about real /virtual concerts and the roles of a

crew during a gig;

*SS are asked to read an article about U2s Zooropa

show and to identify the role of electronic equipment ;-

new ,unknown words are explained when they are met;

*ex.3 from the textbook asks SS to label a diagram , ex

6 and 5 from the Workbook elicit vocabulary related to the text.


Interaction : pairwork ,T-SS,SS-T ,the teacher checks

understanding of new lexis, monitors and gives feed-back;

Competences :Speaking ,Writing ,Reading

Time:10 min.

3 TAKING AN INTERVIEW

AIMS:-*to develop speaking skills;

-*to clarify good practice in interview situations;


-*to practice the roles in the interview process to gain an

insight into what each one brings to the process .

Procedure:- The teacher poses a question: Have you ever been


interviewed?/Have you ever taken an interview?Solicits feedback from
students, asking what the interviews were about, what kinds of questions
were asked, and how they felt during the interview.

-explains SS will write and conduct their own interviews for a national

teen magazine. They must write out at least five questions they would

like to ask during the interview.The questions are written in pairs ,one

volunteer (or many ) will be the pop star to be interviewed.

-role playing;

prompter, resource, participant ,tutor;

4 GRAMMAR : INTRODUCING -NEED /NEED TO BE DONE

AIMS:-*to revise and reinforce grammar

Procedure: *SS are asked to observe the differences between two

sentences written on the blackboard-in the first one the agent is known

,in the second one it is not known or not important;

*with teachers help , SS complete ex3 on the working

sheet;

Interaction :pairwork ,SS-T,T-SS

Competences :Reading ,Writing

Time:10 min

5 FEEDBACK AND HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT:

AIMS:_*to evaluate and stimulate SS

*to give homework

Procedure: evaluation (marks) and homework-more exercises

need/need to be done.
