1. Design and development of Boeing 777x Generator Control Unit (GCU)

Client - Boeing 777x.

GCU shall monitor the quality of AC Power generated in an aircraft through Voltage and Frequency.
When either of the parameters are sensed to be beyond the pre-determined range, GCU shall cut off
the loads from Generator by tripping the Generator Circuit Breaker (GCB) Coil. The Design
Assurance Level of the system is B as per DO-254.

I was responsible for the design and development of the whole system. The major milestones achieved
were the following:

1. Developed the System Level Functional Requirements of GCU in DOORS


2. Developed the Module Level Functional Requirements of GCU in DOORS
3. Developed Concepts for design of Voltage and Frequency Protection Logic, BIT Interface, Power
Supply and monitoring Design and simulation verification of the same in Orcad
4. Developed SPICE models for Zener Diode and BJT in Intusoft ICAP/4 Simulator
5. Designed GND/Open Input Discrete Interface and 28V/Open Output Discrete Interface to interact
with GCU and simulation verification of the same in Orcad
6. Designed HIRF Filter for Lightning Transient Protection on all input- output pins of GCU
7. Component Selection for the whole GCU module as per Company Standard Work and guidelines
8. Developed Schematic for the whole GCU module in Cadence Concept HDL
9. Developed Layout Guidelines for GCU

2. Design and development of Airbus A320 Neo Electronic Engine Control (EEC)

Client - Airbus A320 Neo

EEC is an intelligent system that monitors the Engine health by checking the Vibration, Oil Level,
Temperature and other physical attributes. Every Engine shall have 2 EECs where either is working
and the other one is a backup. The Design Assurance Level of the system is B as per DO-254. It is
embedded inside Fully Authorized Digital Engine Control (FADEC).

I was responsible for the design and development of the whole system. The major milestones achieved
were the following:

1. Developed the System Level Functional Requirements of EEC in DOORS


2. Developed the Module Level Functional Requirements of EEC in DOORS

3. Design and development of Embraer KC -390 Flight Control Electronics Module (FCEM)

Client - Boeing 777x.

FCEM consists of 3 PWBAs namely Control PWBA, Solenoid PWBA and I/O PWBA. The function
of this module is to control the motion of Actuators that inturn control the direction and altitude of
flight. The Design Assurance Level of the system is B as per DO-254

4. Design and development of MEEC 700

Client Sikorsky

MEEC 700 is the Electronic Engine Control (EEC) for engine on Sikorsky S-92 whose functionality
includes controlling the Engine with respect to speed, vibration, temperature, Actuator control and
many more. It is embedded inside Fully Authorized Digital Engine Control (FADEC). The Design
Assurance Level of the system is B as per DO-254. My contributions were the following:

1. Developed the System Level Functional Requirements of FADEC in DOORS


2. Developed the Module Level Functional Requirements of MEEC 700 in DOORS
3. Developed Concepts for design of LVDT Interface, BIT Interface, Power Supply and monitoring
Design and simulation verification of the same in Orcad
4. Developed SPICE models for Zener Diode and BJT in Intusoft ICAP/4 Simulator
5. Component Selection for the whole MEEC 700 PWBA as per Company Standard Work and guidelines
6. Developed Schematic for the whole MEEC 700 PWBA in Cadence Concept HDL
7. Developed C program for TMS320C054 Digital Signal Processor used as Control Processor for
MEEC 700 PWBA.
8. Developed Module Implementation Document for MEEC 700 PWBA describing the significance of
each and every component and also the working of each and every circuit.
