Dear Parents/Guardians,
I am very excited to be teaching year 3/4 this year and I look forward to
getting to know both you and your child. I hope to learn all about your childs
learning styles and needs, strengths and qualities that he/she brings in to the
classroom. I also look forward to creating an inclusive classroom with my
students, one that welcomes all learning styles, all interests, and goals.
About me
Pursing a teaching career has always been something I have wanted to do
since finishing high school and I am thrilled to have achieved what I have so
far. I graduated from Flinders University with a Bachelor of Primary Education
(R-7)/ Bachelor of Arts. My favourite animal would have to be a dolphin. A
favourite sport of mine would be snowboarding and I try to get at least one
trip to the snow a year. I grew up in England until I was 16 but fortunately (or
unfortunately) I have lost almost all of my accent. I believe myself to be a
caring, approachable, and hardworking individual and look forward to the
year ahead.
I have listed some important reminders on the back! Please take a moment
to read these and also to complete the Parents Homework section and
return to class as soon as possible.

Class Dojo
ClassDojo is a behaviour management tool for the classroom and I plan to
implement this as positive reinforcement in the classroom this year. Using class Dojo
provides me the opportunity to send out important reminders (excursions days) and
the ability to share photos with you and the other members of our class joined to the
forum. I have attached the parent invites to sign up to our class forum if you wish to
do so!
(The sharing of photos of your child is voluntary and if you wish your child NOT to be
included in any photos shared between the class story please let me know via the
Parents homework attachment).
Volunteers
Volunteers will be welcome in the classroom, whether it is to supervise on a field trip,
help out in the room, etc. Please email me if you are interested in this and I will be
able to give out further details. As school policy, police record checks may be
needed.
Library Day
Library day will be on a Tuesday. Please make sure your child remembers to bring
back their books each week if they wish to borrow another item. A maximum of two
borrowed items is allowed.
Swimming
Swimming will take place week 2 of this term. Please have all forms returned as soon
as possible.
Acquaintance night
This is currently set in Week 3, further details to follow.
Homework
Homework will be set weekly, mostly consisting of learning spelling words and
reading. More information will be sent out regarding the routine of this.
