System Constraints

Online Computer Shop system is web-

based new development system. Every
system has some terms and conditions
associated with it. These constraints help
to avoid the wrong insertion or processing
of data. This helps to improve accuracy.

This system also has some conditions

associated with it, which helps this system
to function properly and efficiently. They
are as follows:

1 One of the condition we add that only

authorize person can access the whole
system.
2 Any changes in the system can be
done by administrator only as he has
its own id and password.

Scope

Software scope describes the data and

control to be processed, function,
performance, constraints, interface and
reliability.

Functions: Functions described in

statement of the scope are evaluated
and in some cases refind to provide
more details prior to the beginning of
the estimation.

Performance: Performance
consideration encompasses processing
and response time consideration.

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 8

Constraints: Constraints identify limit

placed on the software by external
hardware, available memory or other
existing system.

Interface: Interface includes the

hardware that executes the software,
software that already exists, people that
make use of the software and
procedures that precede or succeed the
software as sequential series of
operation.

Reliability: It measures at how many

point the system fails. The lesser the
failure, the more is the reliable
system. The system we have build is
suitable for todays fast life as people
dont get time to spend on things that
are less essential. The system built is
advantageous in many ways.
1 A user can get knowledge about
event, matrimonial,magazine, and
news about our community.
2 Latest updates are easily reached to
the user.
3 System is very user friendy and easy

to use.
4 Stystem follows the same
conventional rules and processes
that are being used since a long time
so nothing new to be learned.
5 No special training is required.
6 All operations are much faster and
accurate than the manual system.
7 It provides an attractive and
interactive environment to the users.
8 Maintance of the system is very easy
if we see through the administrators
perspective.
9 Strong capacity of computer is also
blame for us compared to manual
management.
Generating the invoice by printer using
computer is also useful feature.

Feasibility Study

A feasibility study is undertaken to

determine the possibility or probability of
either improving the existing system or
developing a completely new system.
It helps to obtain an overview of the
problem and to get rough assessment of
whether feasible solution exists.
This is essential to avoid committing
large resources to a project and then
repent on it later.

Need for Feasibility Study:

The feasibility study is needed to

(1) Answer the question whether a
new system is to be installed or not?
(2)Determine the potential of the
existing system.
(3)Improve the existing system.
(4)Know what should be embedded in
the new system.
(5)Define the problems and objective
involved in a project.

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 11

ONLINE COMPUTER SHOP

(6)Avoid costly repairs at a later stage

when the system is implemented.
(7) Avoid crash implementation of a
new system.
(8)Avoid the Hardware Approach i.e.
getting a computer first and then
deciding how to use it.

There are three aspects in feasibility

study portion of the preliminary
investigation.
(1) Technical feasibility.
(2) Economic feasibility and
(3) Operational feasibility of the project.

(1) Technical Feasibility:

1 Technical Feasibility determines

whether the work for the project be
done with the present equipment,
current procedures, existing softwares
technology and available personnel?
2 If new technology is needed then what
alternatives will be needed in the
present structure and work ethos?
3 This will require a close examination of
the present system.

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 12

ONLINE COMPUTER SHOP

4 The technical feasibility should ask

questions related to:
1) Adequacy of available technology.
2) Adequacy of hardware.
3) Available of computer.
4) Operating time and support
facilities, etc.

Technical feasibility determines

whether the technology needed for the
proposed system is available and how it
can be integrated within the News of our
community
,Event,Magazine,Community,Matrimonial
of patel community, etc.
. Technical evaluation must also assess
whether the existing system can be
upgraded to use the new technology and
whether the Purchase, Sales and Inventory
System have the expertise to use it.

The technical feasibility in the

proposed system deals with the
technology used in the system. It deals
with the hardware and software used in
the system whether they are of latest

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 13

ONLINE COMPUTER SHOP

technology or not. It happens that after a

system is prepared a new technology
arises and the user wants the system
based on that technology. Thus it is
important to check the system to be
technically feasible.

The minimum memory requirement is

1 gbB of RAM while 2 gb is better to have
for better performance. As far as software
is concerned, licensed version of SQL
Server and Visual studio 6.0 (Professional
Version) should be installed on the server..

(2) Economic Feasibility:

Economic feasibility looks at the

financial aspects of the project. Economic
feasibility concerns with the returns from
the investments in a project. It determines
whether it is worthwhile to invest the
money in the proposed system. It is not
worthwhile spending a lot of money on a
project for no returns.
To carry out an economic feasibility for
a system, it is necessary to place actual
money value against any information or

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 14

ONLINE COMPUTER SHOP

activities needed to implement the

project.
The News,Magazine,Event and
Inventory System plans to acquire the
necessary hardware and software require
for the system and there is no hindrance
whether economical or otherwise towards
its get iformation. A brief description of
the hardware and software required in the
system is given later in the report.

(3) Operational Feasibility:

Operational feasibility covers two

aspects. One is the technical performance
aspect and other is the acceptance within
the getting information about our
community. Operational feasibility
determines how the proposed system will
fit in the current operations and what, if
any job restructuring and retraining may
be needed to implement the system.
In the system operational feasibility
checks, whether the user who is going to
use the system is able to work with the
softwares with which the system is coded
and also the mind of the user going to use

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 15

ONLINE COMPUTER SHOP

the system. If the user does not

understand or is able to work on the
system further development is of waste.

Requirements Validation

As our project is to build a dynamic

web-site, there is no criteria such as
windows authentication but will some
security must be provided in essence of
making the rights of certain entity to be
limited to them. Certain validation
criteria that are neede listed below:

1 There are two types of users who

can use the web-site in different
manner with different rights, so the
user cannot do the operation that

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 16

ONLINE COMPUTER SHOP

are not permitted to him/her.

2 The registered users are permitted

to access the services but for this
validation criteria is that they must
enter correct login and password as
well; if any of them is errorneous
then user will not be able to use full-
fledge functionality.

The last is the administrator, the owner of

the system. As administrator has all rights
he/she also has to satisfy the validation
criteria by providing valid login and
password information.

.NET Framework 2.0:

.NET what is it? It is quite simply

Microsofts vision of software as a
service. The .NET vision can be spilt
into several different areas.

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 17

ONLINE COMPUTER SHOP

1 .NET Framework: The framework

is an environment in which you can
build, create and deploy your
application and the next generation
of components termed web services.
It includes three major building
blocks, the common language
runtime for the execution of
applications in any language, a set of
framework classes, and a new
version of Microsofts dynamic
server-side web technology, ASP in
ASP.net.

2 .NET Products: All of Microsofts

major flagship products windows to
visual studio and office are being
integrated into vision and they will
all offer services that will allow
greater integration between
products, relying on XML as a
language to describe the data, and
SOAP as a protocol for transmission
of data between products.

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 18

ONLINE COMPUTER SHOP

3 .NET Services: This is for third

party developers to create
corporate services on the .NET
platform.

It is being marketed as the next big

thing comparable to the step
forward from 32 bit to 64 bit
programming. The .NET
programming model intends to allow
developers to focus on fewer
resources and languages, via the
introduction of common language
runtime, which means that objects,
properties and methods are the
same, no matter what language is
used.

The vision of .NET is globally

distributed systems, that use XML as
the universal glue to allow functions
running on different commuters
across an organization OR an across
the world to come together into a
single application. In this vision,
systems from servers to wireless
palmtops, will share the same

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 19

general problem, with versions of

.NET available for them, and with
each of them able to collaborate
transparently with others. The .NET
also aims to make traditional
business applications easier to
develop and deploy.

1 Need for .NET

The term .NET has become one of
the hottest terms used on the web
over the past years. What exactly
does this term refer to and where did
it came from? It refers to the latest
software development technology
from Microsoft and is destined to be
the biggest thing to hot technology
since the advent of Microsoft
Windows 95. it would be difficult to
directly jump into .NET and in its
purpose without first defining the
need for it.
2 The origin of .NET
The concept of .Net was not
originally envisioned by Microsoft,
but has roots in other technologies

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 20

ONLINE COMPUTER SHOP

that have evolved over time. The

technology used shares many of the
same design goals as java, which
was created by sun Microsystems a
known rival of Microsoft. The irony of
the situation is that java was
modeled after C++, a language in
significant being platform
independent. To achieve platform
independence, it is required that all
code be written in java. In addition,
an interpreter had to be developed
for each platform that supported
java. This interpreter is known as the
java virtual machine encountering
many obstacles along the way.
Microsoft profited by learning from
the limitations of java and the JVM
and created the ultimate platform
independent design - .Net.

3 Major .NET improvements

Tow of the primary improvements
that Microsoft made to java design
were eliminate the limitation if a
single development environment
language and avoiding the

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 21

performance lost due to interpreted

code.
1) Single Development Language
2) Interpreted code

4 .NET Experience
Microsoft.NET can be thought of as
an experience, which provides the
end user a means to interact with
devices, based on anytime,
anywhere fundamental that users
have been wishing for sometime
now. from the users perspective,
the .Net experience is whole new
world of something that allows him
anytime anywhere access of devices,
the Microsoft.Net experience is a
dramatically more personal,
integrated computing experience
using web services delivered through
smart devices.

5 .NET Framework in Context

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 22

ONLINE COMPUTER SHOP

The following section describes the

main components and features of the
.NET Framework in greater detail.

ASP.NET 3.5:

ASP.NET is a unified web

platform that provides all the services
necessary for you to built enterprise
class applications. It in turn, is built on
the .NET Framework, so the entire
framework is available to ant ASP.NET
application and the operating system
services in a standard way, the .NET
framework provides the runtime

environment for ASP.NET. There is the

new technology developed by the
Microsoft is the Visual Studio 2008 after
the Visual Studio 2005. So you are most
interested in whats new in Visual Studio
2008. Although most of the editing
features and debugging tools in Visual
Studio 2008 are the same as those in
Visual Studio 2005, the underlying
model has a few significant changes.
Here are the four most significant
changes are as below :-

6 Projectless Development :
Visual Studio no longer clutters your
web projects with extra development
files (such as .csproj and .sln). One
obvious benefit of this model is that
you can deploy exactly what you
develop, without needing to filter out
just a subset of the files. The concept
of projectless development is slightly
overstated. Visual Studio still stores
some information in a solution file
and it quietly stows that file away
under a user-specific directory.
However, there is a significant

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 24

ONLINE COMPUTER SHOP

difference these hidden solution

files are not required. Essential
details are stored right in the
web.config file.

7 New Compilation Model :

Visual Studio is no longer responsible
for compiling your code. Instead,
ASP.NET taken on that responsibility
exclusively. This gives Visual Studio
more flexible debugging, and it
simplifies deployment on different
platforms for example, 32-bit and 64-
bit window. It also allows you to
combine web pages written in C#
with web pages written in another
.Net languages in the same project.

8 New Code Model :

The shift in the compilation model
also reduces the differences between
the code-behind model and the code-
inline model of writing web pages,
both of which Visual Studio now
support. However, the syntax for
code-behind is subtly different from
that used for Visual Studio 2005 web

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 25

pages, and you will need to perform

a one-way conversion operation to
edit your web application in Visual
Studio 2008.

9 Integrated Test Web Server :

There is the new integrated web
server, which allows you to run your
web pages without setting up virtual
directories or deploying your
website.

1 Benefits of .NET framework in

ASP.NET
1)Support for Web based User
Interfaces
2)Data Accessibility
3)Scalability, Availability and
robustness

3 Advantages of ASP.NET page

framework
1)Intuitive object model
2)Event-Driven programming model
3)Intuitive state management

C# 2005:

C# adds several new language

features in version 2008. Some of
these are exotic features that only a
language aficionado will love, while
others are more generally useful. The
new features include the following :-

4 Partial Classes:

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 27

ONLINE COMPUTER SHOP

Partial classes allow you to split a C#

class into two or more source code
files. This feature is primarily useful
for hiding messy details you do not
need to see. Visual Studio uses
partial classes in some project types
to tuck automatically generated code
out of sight.

5 Generics:

Generics allow you to create classes

that are flexible enough to work with
different class types but still support
strong type checking. For example,
you could code a collection class
using generics that can store any
type of object. When you create as
instance of the collection, you lock
it in to the class of your choice so
that it can store only a single type of
data. The important part in this
example is that the locking happens
when you use the collection class,
not when you code it.

6 Anonymous Methods:

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 28

ONLINE COMPUTER SHOP

Anonymous methods allow you to

define a block of code on the fly,
inside another method. You can use
this technique to quickly hook up an
event handler.

7 Iterators:

Iterators gives you an easy way to create

classes that support enumeration, which
means you can loop through the values
they contain using the C# foreach
statement.

Tables:-

A table is a collection of data about a

specific topic, such as products or
suppliers. Using a separate table for each
topic means that you store that data only
once, which makes your database more
efficient, and reduces data-entry errors.
Tables organize data into columns (called
fields) and rows (called records).

SANSKRUTI COLLEGE OF MGMT. & I.T. 32

ONLINE COMPUTER SHOP

A common field relates two tables so

that Microsoft Access can bring together
the data from the two tables for viewing,
editing, or printing. It is also easy to put
constraint on particular fields of table. We
can also give reference of other fields
table using constraints.
In table Design view, you can create an
entire table from scratch, or add, delete,
or customize the fields in an existing
table.
