Although todays range in the S&P narrowed and the volume decreased, there was
nothing bearish about todays price action. The market rallied to within a few points of
the June high and showed no willingness to move away. There was an afternoon attempt
to turn down, but the selling was quickly overcome. We may see more lateral movement
below the June high as the buyers absorb through the long profit taking, long liquidation
and short selling prior to taking the market higher.
