Manual mode
Manu / Auto Signal:

When Elevator simulator PM is started, Manu / Auto switch is in OFF position

which corresponds to manual functioning mode of the elevator.

- M / A, Manual / Automatic

1/ Manual mode:

This mode allows you to operate the elevator at your wish.

By clicking on one of the nine other switches you:

- Move/stop the elevator (Motor start)


- Switch the motion speed from slow to fast and vice versa
(F/S Motion)
- Change the motion direction from up to down and vice versa
(U/D Motion)
- Open / Close floor doors (O/C FD04)
- Open / close car door (O/C CD)

In this mode, S7-PLCSIM output is decoupled from Elevator simulator PM.

2/ Automatic mode:

In this mode, the full control of Elevator simulator PM is under S7-PLCSIM. Automatic mode
Elevator Car, Doors, Call and Destination R. and Digit and Arrow

Display signals are output from S7-PLCSIM. For their signal

description, please refer to the corresponding help title.

Elevator Car Signals (Automatic mode) :

When Manu /Auto switch is ON, Elevator simulator PM is in automatic mode.

The elevator car is then driven by three S7-PLCSIM output signals :

- O/F M, On/Off Motor


- F/S M, Fast/Slow Motion
- U/D M, Up/Down Motion

Along its travel, thirteen sensors positioned at different levels

signal to S7-PLCSIM the car position.

- CL3C, Car is at Level (floor) 3 position C
- CL3B, Car is at Level (floor) 3 position B
- CL3A, Car is at Level (floor) 3 position A
- CL2C, Car is at Level (floor) 2 position C
- CL2B, Car is at Level (floor) 2 position B
- CL2A, Car is at Level (floor) 2 position A
- CL1C, Car is at Level (floor) 1 position C
- CL1B, Car is at Level (floor) 1 position B
- CL1A, Car is at Level (floor) 1 position A
- CL0C, Car is at Level (floor) 0 position C

NOTICE:

Position A sensor at each level indicates that the car is exactly leveled to the corresponding floor.

Position B sensor is used to signal that position A is approaching when the car is traveling downwards.

Position C sensor is used to signal that position A is approaching when the car is travelling upwards.

Position B and C sensors are then usefull to decrease the motor speed before stopping.

Door Signals (Automatic mode) :

When Manu /Auto switch is ON, Elevator simulator PM is in automatic mode.

The floor and car doors are then driven by six S7-PLCSIM output signals:

- O/C FD4, Open / Close Floor 4 Door


- O/C FD3, Open / Close Floor 3 Door
- O/C FD2, Open / Close Floor 2 Door
- O/C FD1, Open / Close Floor 1 Door
- O/C FD0, Open / Close Floor 0 Door
- O/C CD, Open / Close Car Door

O/C FD3 to O/C FD0 are similar to O/C FD4 respectively.

As a feedback to Open/Close actions on the doors, twelve signals are

generated from Elevator simulator PM back to S7-PLCSIM.

- FD4 C, Floor Door 4 is closed


- FD4 O, Floor Door 4 is opened
- FD3 C, Floor Door 3 is closed
- FD3 O, Floor Door 3 is opened
- FD2 C, Floor Door 2 is closed
- FD2 O, Floor Door 2 is opened
- FD1 C, Floor Door 1 is closed
- FD1 O, Floor Door 1 is opened
- FD0 C, Floor Door 0 is closed
- FD0 O, Floor Door 0 is opened
- CD O, Car Door is opened
- CD C, Car Door is closed

Call and Destination (R) Signals (Automatic mode) :

Call and Destination (R) signals consist of four subcategories of signals:

- Call R. signals

- Destination R. signals

- Call signals

- Destination signals

The letter R. stands for Registered.

Call R. signals are supposed to be generated by S7-PLCSIM in response to

call signals to notify that the pushbutton pressed to call the car is received

and registered in order to be processed.

Call R. signals are terminated by indicators on the front view.

Call signals are generated by pushbuttons on the front view.

Destination R. signals work in conjunction with Destination signals.

Destination R. signals are terminated by indicators inside the car.

Destination signals are generated by pushbuttons inside the car.

When Manu /Auto switch is ON, Elevator simulator PM is in automatic mode.

So, the indicators related to the Call R. and Destination R. signals are lighted ON / OFF thru S7-PLCSIM.

These indicators are located on the front view and inside the car respectively.

The Call R. signals are:

- CB4D R, Call pushbutton from floor 4 to get Down is registered


- CB3U R, Call pushbutton from floor 3 to get Up is registered
- CB3D R, Call pushbutton from floor 3 to get Down is registered
- CB2U R, Call pushbutton from floor 2 to get Up is registered
- CB2D R, Call pushbutton from floor 2 to get Down is registered
- CB1U R, Call pushbutton from floor 1 to get Up is registered
- CB1D R, Call pushbutton from floor 1 to get Down is registered
- CB0U R, Call pushbutton from floor 0 to get Up is registered

CB4D R Indicator located at floor 4 in the bottom position


0 Is OFF, indicating call is not registered
1 Is ON, indicating call is registered

CB3U R Indicator located at floor 3 in the top position


0 Is OFF, indicating call is not registered
1 Is ON, indicating call is registered

CB0U R Indicator located at floor 0 in the top position


0 Is OFF, indicating call is not registered
1 Is ON, indicating call is registered

The Destination R. signals are:

- DB4 R, Destination pushbutton to get to floor 4 is registered


- DB3 R, Destination pushbutton to get to floor 3 is registered
- DB2 R, Destination pushbutton to get to floor 2 is registered
- DB1 R, Destination pushbutton to get to floor 1 is registered

The Destination signals are:

NOTICE: Call and Destination pushbuttons are temporary switches, i.e. they go ON when pressed then OFF when released. The signal generated is a narrow pulse.

Digit an Arrow Display Signals (Automatic mode) :

On the top of each floor door and inside the car a dual display is available to announce:

- The current floor number where the car is.


This is the digit part on the right of the display.

- A directional arrow to indicate:


o Whether the car is travelling downwards or upwards.
In this case the arrow is blinking.
o Whether the car is called from down or up but not yet travelling.
In this case, the arrow shows in steady state.
This is the arrow part on the left of the display

When Manu /Auto switch is ON, Elevator simulator PM is in automatic mode.

The Digit and Arrow Display is then driven by six S7-PLCSIM output signals :

The digit part:

- DD B0, Digit Display B0


- DD B1, Digit Display B1
- DD B2, Digit Display B2
