1. TITLE
PROCEDURE AC WITHSTAND VOLTAGE TEST METAL ENCLOSED MV SWITCHGEAR

2. SCOPE
AC VOLTAGE WITHSTAND TEST

3. OBJECTIVE
This is to assure that the requirements of electrical individual test works are meets the codes
requirements and contract specifications. To make sure, the works are carried out in acceptable
workmanship and follow the requirements in the quality manual.

5. RISK AND SAFETY PRECAUTION

5.1 Everyone must wear safety helmet when come into construction site and tie safety belt
when work at height.
5.2 High voltage testing area should be circled by rail with warning board and make special
person to watch.
5.3 If happen anything abnormal, the testing must be stopped, and strengthen test warning.
5.4 Clean all tools and instruments, prevent something to leave on instrument after test; if
some wires are changed, it need be restored after test.

8. TEST PROCEDURE
8.1 Conditioning before testing
8.1.1 All busbar components inside switch gear are install and in good condition
8.1.2 All potential transformer /voltage transformer should reg out position from switchgear
8.1.3 All secondary CT terminal should be shorted
8.1.4 All outgoing busbar terminal on switchgear will be test must disconnect from any device
8.1.5 All grounding wire on panel switchgear has good connection to earth
8.1.6 All busbar which are not to be test must be grounded to earth
8.1.7 All work on the substation are interrupted and staff is warned that test will be carried out.

8.2 AC voltage withstand test

8.2.1 Precaution :
Use 5000V insulation resistance tester, record the environment temperature and
moisture while measuring, the value should be not less than 1M/kilo Volt + 1 1M in
normal temperature condition.
Insulation resistance must be measured before and after applied voltage test.

8.2.2 Test Voltage ( Specification )

Test Voltage 80% of Insulation Level
Test Frequency 50 Hz
Test Duration 60 second at test voltage

8.2.3 Voltage sequence

During voltage is being applied, insulation must not breakdown
