Overview of the Project:
Second-grade students will engage in the book with multimedia tools. Students
will use reading strategies to activate their prior knowledge, learn new vocabulary,
comprehend the story and its underlying message, and reflect/review the book.
We chose this book because we feel our second graders will be able to relate to
the anxiety that comes at the beginning of the school year. Also, because it has
an important message to be proud of who you are. We feel it would be a great
read aloud at the beginning of the year.
Teachers can use this as a resource and can project videos/games with the links
onto a Smartboard for student use.
