Describe how you would use the Online Project/Collaboration Site/Publishing
Opportunity in your classroom: I would have my class look for different bugs outside. We
would then send them into Bugscope and have a Live Session Experience. During the Live
Session Experience, students would be able to view the different specimens and look at their
similarities and differences.
What technologies would be required to implement this proposed learning activity in a
classroom? A SMARTboard or projector and a computer
Describe how the following features are addressed in this learning experience (note: all of
them may not be addressed in the project, but most should be if you are reaching a high

a. Collaboration with peers, near-peers, mentors outside their classroom and
often beyond their school: By using Bugscope, students will be able to interact
with Bugscope scientists and ask questions.
b. Student-centered learning and knowledge creation (collecting original data
and or producing original products as a result of engaging in the project):
Students will be able to collect data on the organisms that they encounter and
produce information on these specimens.
c. Higher-order thinking: Students will evaluate and analyze the specimens and
contract meaning from their similarities and differences.
d. Students publishing their original work to others who will use/care about
their product: N/A

analyze it on their own.
How could you implement this proposed learning experience and still comply with your
