Tansversal a line that intersect two different lines at two different points.

Exterior Angles angles 1, 2, 7, and 8 are exterior angles

Interior Angles angles 3, 4, 5, and 6 are interior angles

Corresponding Angles a pair of exterior and interior angles on the same side of transversal that do not
form a linear pair. Angles 1 & 5, 2 & 6, 4&8, and 3&7

Alternate Interior Angles a pair of interior angles on opposite sides of a transversal that do not form a
linear pair. Angles 4 &6, and 3 & 5.

Alternate Exterior Angles a pair of exterior angles on opposite sides of transversal that do not form a
linear pair.

Polygon a closed figure whose sides are segments. Sides of a polygon don cross each other nor lie on
the same line.

Regular Polygon is a convex polygon all of its sides and angles congruent.

Non-regular Polygon is either convex or non-convex polygon whose sides or angles are not of the same
measure.
Convex Polygon a polygon is convex if the segment joining any two points containing it lie entirely in
the interior of the polygon.

Non-convex Polygon a polygon is non-convex if the segment joining any two points containing it do not
lie entirely in the interior of the polygon.

Triangle any polygon with three sides or 3 angles.

Classification of Triangles according to Angles

a. Acute Triangles are triangles all of its angles are acute

b. Right Triangles are triangles with one right angle
c. Obtuse Triangles are triangles with one obtuse angle.

Classification of Triangles according to the Number of Congruent Sides

a. Scalene Triangles are triangles wherein no two of its sides are of equal measure
b. Isosceles Triangles are triangles with two of its sides congruent.
c. Equilateral Triangles are triangles all of its sides are congruent.

Quadrilaterals are polygons with four sides or four angles.

Parallelogram a quadrilateral with two pairs of opposite side parallel.

Rectangle a parallelogram all of its angles are right angles.

Rhombus a parallelogram all of its sides are congruent.

Square is a rectangle all of its sides are congruent

Trapezoid is a quadrilateral with one pair of opposite sides parallel.

Kite is a quadrilateral with two pairs of consecutive sides congruent.

Circle is a set of points equidistant from a fixed point called center.

Radius a segment joining a point on the circle and its center.

Diameter is a chord that contains the center of the circle.

Chord is a segment whose endpoints are points on the circle.

Arc part of a circle whose endpoints are the endpoints of the chord that subtends it.

Semi-Circle an arc whose endpoints are the endpoints of the diameter of the circle.

Sector is the region bounded by the sides of a central angle and the arc subtended by the angle.

Tangent of a circle is a line that intersect a circle at exactly one point called point of tangency.
Secant of a circle is a line that intersect a circle at two different points.

Major Arc an arc whose measure is greater than the measure of a semi-circle.

Minor Arc an arc whose measure is less than the measure of a semi-circle
