attempttoescaperealitythroughdelusions,hallucinationsandparanoia.Itisadefensereactionofthe
unconscious.WhentreatingSchizophrenia,therapistsmustaddressbothangles,thatis,

extremelylowselfesteem(thecause)
disconnectionfromreality(theeffect)

Currentpsychiatryfocusesexclusivelyontherealitydisconnectionpartneglectingtheemotionalcounter
partthatis,extremelylowselfesteem.Ittreatsextremelylowselfesteemasjustanothersymptom.

Allofusaredisconnectedfromrealitytoacertainextent.Thedifferencebetweenaschizophrenicpatient
anda"normal"personisthatthedelusionsofthelatterarenotthatextremeasthatoftheformer.
Nevertheless,theyaredelusions.Itisimpossibletoconvincea"normal"personthatheorsheisjust
havingaperceptionorpointofview(SeeUniversalTruthfallacy ).Heorshemayacceptthealternative
pointofview,buttrainersandcoachesinthepersonaldevelopmentfieldknowprettywellhowpeopledon't
reallygetitatall(SeeForceFitting ).Schizophrenicpatientsfunctionexactlyas"normal"peopledo.Only
thingisthattheyareintheextremesinthecontinuum.

(Thatschizophrenicshave'chemicalimbalanceintheirbrain'isjustlazinessonthepartofthetherapist
andjustificationfornotexploringthepsychologicalcausesofschizophrenia.Whatcausesthis"chemical
imbalance"?Therearealotofjustificationsinthisarea,andthepsychotherapyfieldhasneverexplored
thisinthelightIhavepresentedhere.)

Alsoitisimportantforthecoachtotrusttheinnategoodness,giftsandcompetenceofhisclient.Thisis
especiallytrueoftherapeuticpatients.Sadly,thisfactorismissingincurrentpsychiatryand
psychotherapy.Therapiststreattheirpatients(especiallyschizophrenics)asoutoftheworldlunatics.

Nowonderschizophreniaisanincurableillness.Thetroubleisalsowiththetherapistandnotonlywiththe
patient.Whatrequiresisahigherlevelofmaturityonthepartofthetherapist.

rationalizeitaway.Afterall,whateffortdidtheymakeintreatingtheillnessfromapsychologicalpointof
view?Usually,nothing.

patient,asifyoutrustwhatheorsheissayingandlethimtakealookattheevidenceprocedure,thatis,
theevidencethataninternalbeliefisinaccordancewithwhatisobservable.
