typemarkertomarkthecrankshaftandcamshafttimingmarksontheLHand
RH
timingchains.
1.Markanylinktouseasthecrankshafttimingmark.
2.Startingwiththecrankshafttimingmark,countcounterclockwise29linksa
ndmarkthelink.
3.Continuecountingcounterclockwisetolink42andmarkthelink.
VerifythattheLHcamshaftsarecorrectlypositioned.
InstalltheLHtimingchain.
Alignthemarksonthetimingchainwiththemarksonthecamshaftandcran
kshaftsprockets.
Installthecrankshaftpulleyboltandwasherandrotatethecrankshaftclockwis
e120degreesuntilthecrankshaftkeywayisinthe3o'clockposition

VerifythattheRHcamshaftsarecorrectlypositioned.

InstalltheRHtimingchain.
Alignthemarksonthetimingchainwiththemarksonthecamshaftandcr
ankshaftsprockets.

Rotatethecrankshaftcounterclockwise120degreestoTDC.

NOTICE:Failuretoverifycorrecttimingdrivecomponentalignmentwillresultinsevereenginedamage.
Verifythetimingwiththefollowingsteps.
1.Thereshouldbe12chainlinksbetweenthecamshafttimingmarks.
2.Thereshouldbe27chainlinksbetweenthecamshaftandthecrankshafttimingmarks.
3.Thereshouldbe30chainlinksbetweenthecamshaftandthecrankshafttimingmarks
