Without proper surveys, generalized words like Foundation
strengthening may require works like correction in deflections of well,
tilt, shift if any etc., very specialized teams having capabilities to work
underwater will be required, besides deployment of pontoons and
winch structures that will facilitate to carry out under water
rehabilitation works.

Under such circumstances, it is impossible for the contractor to

estimate cost and time implication for the rehabilitation works. Hence
the following suggestion is extended:

Option A

The rehabilitation work for Major Bridge shall be DELETED

from the present scope of work. It shall have to be assessed
in actual by the help of specialized agency and shall be invited
individually for rehabilitation of Major Bridge from the Bidders
with the specialized prequalification criteria having the due
experience related to rehabilitation in the field of such type of
water structures

Option B

Kindly give more specific details like execution drawings and

rehabilitation methodology assessed, designed, signed by a
competent authority as well as quantification of the type and
quantum of repair to be carried out. Construction period may be
revised accordingly. The contractors liability shall be limited
only to repairs carried out with respect to the execution
drawings and rehabilitation methodology given along with the
