Career Profile
After completing my MA on Peace and Conflict Studies, I started working and
volunteering in the UK.
I received my Master of Arts degree from Coventry University which ranked
15th place of UK universities in the Guardian University Guide in 2016.
My dissertation covered the refugee crises going on in Europe and the UK`s
response to the Syrian refugees. My research on the topic enabled me to
understand the situation in depth. I have gained an insight to the experiences
of people on the move, difficulties faced in refugee camps, struggles of
asylum seekers and unaccompanied children.
I worked in Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre as an Advice Team
Caseworker in order to improve my expertise.

EXPERIENCE
02.2017 06.2017 Advice Team Caseworker the UK
I worked as an Advice Team Caseworker in Coventry Refugee and
Migrant Centre. CRMC is a well-known organization based in West
Midlands. I helped my clients on overcoming their struggles related to
benefit system, destitution and safeguarding.
08.2016 - 06.2017 Freelance Interpreter the UK
I provided interpretation services to NHS and social services in West
Midland area.
11.2016 -01.2017 Project Assistant `Words Matter` the UK
I implemented an event related to Hate Speech in City Collage Coventry.
During the event I gave a presentation about Hate Speech along with the
citys most prominent names, as well as Rui Gomes from Strasbourg.
This event was delivered with the financial aid from United Religions
Initiative.
09.2014-09.2015 Project Assistant Cyprus

I worked as a project worker in Youthopia Project. The project was

funded by European Union. I was responsible for internal and external
communications of the organization, as well as related administrative
duties. I organizing social events for Famagusta Youth in order to raise
awareness on their rights. In addition, I also represented Famagusta
Youth Centre on international events.

Projects undertaken
Project Management for Development Agencies: I have developed
a project, which enabled refugees in Turkey to integrate into the
Turkish community. The project involved Turkish culture seminars,
Turkish language teaching and psychological support since majority
of refugees suffer from PTSD.
Dissertation in the Humanities and Social Science: I have written
my dissertation on the UK`s response to the Syrian refugee crises. I
questioned the satisfaction levels of VPR Scheme, which is especially
set up for Syrian refugees. I have gained an in-depth understanding
of refugee issues and the UK`s refugee policy.

(10-11.05.2017) Research, Evidence and Policy Learning for Global
Education
The Conference was organized by University College London, GENE and
also supported by the ERASMUS+. The conference demonstrated the
contribution of evidence based research to policy development on global
education. Schools for Future Youth`s work has been introduced.
(04.05.2017) Global Citizens in Turbulent Times The UK
This event was organized by OXFAM GB. Presentations and a panel
discussion were carried out from special guests and educators active in the
field of global citizenship education, sharing from practitioners and a youth-
led workshop.
(06-09.02.2017) Advice Team Caseworker Training The UK
The training took place in Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre.
The training consisted of Lamplight Database Training, Asylum Process and
Support, Letter Writing, Client Settlement Case working Procedures.
Shadowing sessions also carried out.
(06 13.12.2016) Safeguarding Young People from Extremism The UK
Upstanding Neighborhoods delivered the training in Coventry for Voluntary
and Community groups.
Day One: Roots to Radicalization, Far Right Extremism and Social Media
and Online Propaganda
Day Two: Gangs and Serious Youth Violence, Working with Offenders,
Resettlement and Substance Misuse.
(30.06.2015 03.07.2015) The ENTER! Youth Meeting France
200 youth workers from all around Europe attended the meeting in order to
learn and share experiences about Social Rights.
Discussions took place to create a change in the social arena so that young
people from disadvantaged neighborhoods could also access to social rights.
(24- 25.10.2014) Info Visit to Brussels Belgium
The aim of the visit was introducing the EU`s institutions to Cypriots.
I represented Famagusta Youth Centre. We paid visits to Commission,
Council and Parliament.
(14-20.10.2014) Social Entrepreneurship Training Cyprus
The training took place in Nicosia, Cyprus and it was organized by Youth
Power. Participants were from all around the Europe.
The training gave practical tips on how to develop your ideas and establish
your own business.
(20-23.10.2014) Human Rights Workshop Cyprus
The aim of the project was teaching the basic Human Rights and what could
we do in order to defend our rights.
