App Title: National Geographic Weird But True!
App Price: Free
Subject Area: ELA Reading App
Rationale for Curriculum Use: Wacky facts and trivia for kids!
This is a terrific app for engaging kids imagination and creativity.
Kids are fascinated by things like Ripleys Believe it or Not and the
Guinness Book of Records. Weird But True is the app format
appropriate for school age kids. I would use this for an option for
Reading Response journal. Have the students discover their most
interesting weird fact, and then write about their thoughts and
feelings about it. They can do further research about the subject as well.
