Reading Strategies
We will be learning many different reading strategies to help us become better
readers. For the month of September we will be focusing on Rereading and
Making predictions. By rereading students will be able to make reading more
meaningful. This strategy will encourage reflection, offer ways for learners to deal
with confusing passages in texts, and continue to connect students to characters
lives and new information. By making predictions, students will be able to use
information from a text and their own personal experiences to anticipate what
they are about to read or what comes next. This strategy will help students focus
on the text and constantly thinking ahead and also refining, revising, and
verifying his or her predictions.
