DIAGNOSIS

Flash code

Reading out error memory

In a stationary or running engine and with the ignition switched on, hold down the flash code request
control switch for at least 2 seconds. The diagnostics light will be on while the switch is held down and
will go out once it is released.

After a pause of about 3 seconds the flashing sequence will commence. The flash code is divided into
short and long pulses.

Diagnosis always issued just one error. To find out whether several errors have been stored, the error
scanning must be repeated until the error first displayed re-appears.

Self-diagnosis distinguishes between errors that are stored and are

displayed with a constant light on the EDC indicator light.
and errors which have also been stored in error memory, but
are not displayed by the indicator light.

Deletion of error memory

1. Press the request control switch

2. Switch on ignition
3. Hold down the request control switch for a further 3 seconds

Note: Only the flash code error memory can be deleted with the flash code request control switch.
For MAN-cats the error is still readable.
On ending the MAN-cats diagnosis both error memories will be deleted after interrogation.
In practice, the error memory should be deleted with MAN-cats.
Deletion using the request control switch alone is not enough.
