District 306
It’s the customary of the Leo multiple to organize a multiple district conference at the end of the each
year. The key objective of this event is to motivate the Leos to do better in service , while recognizing
the past leaders of the multiple.
This year the Leo Multiple District Conference was the 32nd Multiple District conference and it was held
at Ceylon Hotel School , Colombo 3.
Event Planning
A committee was appointed in order to handle the MD conference. This committee comprised
of outstanding leaders from the 6 Leo Districts
Committee included people in charge of business session , ceremonial session and awards
ceremony. Additionally leos were assigned on functional areas such as sounds / multimedia and
awards.
These committes met regularly to organize the multiple conference under the leadership of
Multiple President and Multiple Vice President.
A facebook event was organized for publicity and several email campaigns were launched to
promote the event.
Paper invitations were sent to Key leo officials.

Event Proceedings
The event started off with the Business Session. In this session Leo Kamal Jayathilake was
elected as the Multiple District President and Leo Supipi Silva was elected as the Multiple
District Vice President
They were elected by the rotation basis which was practiced by the multiple 306 Sri Lanka. This
was endorsed and approved by all the attendees
Multiple President and Multiple Vice president, along with the board of directors were installed
by Lion Anver Dole , PDG and Chairman of Council of governors of District 306 A1.
Then the Multiple District re-assembled for the ceremonial session. Lion Mahendra Amarasuriya
– Past International President and Lion Diresh Hettiarachchi – Multiple Council Chairman MD
306 attended this ceremony as Chief Guest and Guest of Honor. They were welcomed and
escorted to the conference premises in a colorful traditional Sri Lankan dancers.
which started off with a multimedia presentation and a series of parades. This consisted of a
district parade where all the Leo districts of MD 306 paraded along with the banners. Then there
was the parade of the Past Multiple District Presidents. All Past Multiple Districts were
remembered and the outgoing Leo Multiple Council was recognized.
Then a multimedia presentation of the last year multiple activities and district activities were
shown.
During the awards ceremony awards were distributed to the top performing Leo projects and
office bearers. Each category was awarded winner, 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up.

Conclusion
This conference was organized with the objective of recognizing the outstanding performances of Leos
of Sri Lanka. Multiple district council believes that we achieved this objective. The performance of the
Multiple District is noteworthy provided the financial and other challenges faced by the Leos in
organizing this event. Leos of Sri Lanka welcomed this initiative and we believe that this conference
contributed to the betterment of Leo movement in Sri Lanka.
