RESEARC METODOLOGY

This chapter presents the procedures used in investigating the aims of the study. It consist
of research method, research object, data sources, research instrument, data collection procedure,
and data analysis procedure.

1) Research Method
This research applies descriptive method. According to Fraenkl and Wallen (1999: 23) as
cited by Arsalan, Descriptive method is a method used to explain, analyze, and classify
something through various techniques, survey, interview, and questionnaire. In this
research also use extrinsic approaches which analyzing Historical by using mythologies.

2) Research Object
This research, the writer applies descriptive method with a qualitative approach. According
to Fraenkl and Wallen (1993: 23) as cited by Arsalan, Descriptive method is a method used
to explain, analyze, and classify something through various techniques, survey, interview,
questionnaires and test. In descriptive method it can be qualitative and quantitative design
depends on the aims of research. They also explain that the writer on translation
procedures, like this study are mostly relevant to be conducted using qualitative design.
The study is based on the question below:
1. What is the historical on Ouija: Origin of Evil movie?
2. What is the relation of historical and myth on Ouija: Origin of Evil movie?
Related to the questions above and all suggestions above about descriptive method is
appropriate to achieve the aims of this study. The writer will survey, collect and explore
data from different sources, as films and other types of documentation.

3) Data Sources
The sources of the research is movie entitled Ouija: Good Bye 2014 American
supernatural horror film and written by Flanagan and Jeff Howard. This research use a
qualitative verbal in watch datas from the movie. The data will collect by watch the movie.

4) Research Instrument
In this research, the writer will collect the data using note taking. The writer will watch the
movie of Ouija: Good bye 2014 American supernatural horror film and written by
Flanagan and Jeff Howard.

5) Data Collection Procedure


The data collection of this research is used Note Taking to collect the data. The writer will
watch the movie of Ouija: Good bye 2014 American supernatural horror film and written
by Flanagan and Jeff Howard. To collect the data, the writer uses library research and looks
for other information that relevant and appropriate with the research problem. In collecting
data the writer does some following steps:
1. Watch and Analyzing the movie Ouija: Good bye by Flanagan and Jeff
Howard
2. Collecting the data from journal and academic writing that have relation with
the research
3. Writing down the important note in the movie Ouija: Good bye by Flanagan
and Jeff Howard
4. Arranging the data into several data
5. Concluding the data
