the questions. So You may wish to disregard the guideline too. Your
objective is to achieve the criterias in the assignment brief.

Introduction

Write 5/6 lines defining leadership, strategic leadership. Then describe what the report wants to
achieve.

1. TCritically evaluate theoretical frameworks, models and concepts that


underpin strategic leadership. How can these theoretical ideas be
applied to make a positive influence for Acorn Ventures Ltd?

Identify 3-4 strategic leadership theories/frameworks like path-goal theory,


traits theory of leadership, Skills Theory of leadership etc. CRITICALLY
EVALUATE these theories (when it says critical you have to give their
weaknesses too).
Then describe how the theories can be practically applied to improve the
performance of Acorn. (so you have to suggest some strategies or
CHANGES that leaders can make to improve performance. For example,
they can decrease reliance on part time workers, or they can obtain official
ISO accreditation etc.)
Remember, just giving strategies is not enough. You have to show that how
these strategies are a result of the strategic leadership theories,
frameworks discussed above.

2. Critically assess the factors that affect strategic leadership in a range of


organizational contexts. What factors are likely to have most affect in
this case study and why?

Identify factors that affect strategic leadership and CRITICALLY EVALUATE these
factors. My opinion says that some factors could be organizational structure,
organizational culture, leadership styles (autocratic, democratic, laissez-faire etc),
firms financial condition, external business environment etc.
Dont just give theoretical answer. Rather, you will have to identify how some of
the identified factors are going to affect Acorn and why? So, how will the
organizational culture of Acorn affect its strategic leadership.. etc etc.

3. Appreciating that in order for Acorn Ventures Ltd to maintain


competitive advantage they must continuously strive to implement
positive change. Critically appraise the role and contribution of strategic
leadership in managing your advised changes.

Mainly this question seems to be regarding strategy implementation. So


google leader role in strategy implementation and you will find relevant
stuffs.
Start by describing competitive advantage. Why it is important for Acorn.
How it can be achieved etc.
CRITICALLY describe the role and contribution of leaders in implementing
the changes / strategies you suggested in task 1.
For example, leaders contribute in managing change by providing direction,
communication, coordination, by motivating employees, by formulating
effective strategic plans etc.

4. From your own experience, knowledge and research, reflect critically on


the key factors, which can affect the management of effective strategic
change. How might this apply in this case study?

This question mainly seems to be regarding change management.


Google it.
Write a few lines that sometimes while implementing strategic changes
in Acorn, the leaders can face resistance from the employees. They have
to overcome this.
Identify what factors lead to resistance to change. I.e uncertainty of
employees, fear of unknown etc.
Now critically evaluate factors that affect management of strategic
change at Acorn.
Give solutions to overcome the factors and resistance.

Write 4/5 lines of conclusion

REMEMBER THE ENTIRE ASSIGNMENT SHOULD BE BASED ON THE GIVEN CASE


STUDY. SO WHEN EVER YOU GIVE A THEORETICAL DESCRIPTION SUPPORT IT
FROM THE CASE STUDY OR RELATE IT TO CASE STUDY.
