The natural history museum trip was probably the best experiences I was able to have
while taking this class as it got me to even go to the museum. The museum also had the Viking
exhibit up at the time of the class which makes it all the more better. I learned much about the
Viking culture and how some of the things they had done have either adapted into modern
times or have possibly died out, but have not been forgotten. I enjoyed their views on the world
as it is an interesting belief and enjoyed the knowledge the museum provided and possibly
debunked some of the myths about the Vikings. I also liked how in depth the Viking belief was
and how most of how they saw the world had a story fitting it with the Norse gods. I got to learn
not only of their culture, but how they built things, and how survived. I learned not only were
they raiders of sorts, but that they also did trade to get silver. Their use of runes was interesting
as a rock can hold a story which could be longer than an essay if told in words. Taking the trip to
the museum and learning about the Vikings makes me grateful for the advancement of
technology and knowledge of resources now than what was available back then. It was a rough
lifestyle then and when most children dont live to become adults only increases my
gratefulness even more.
