LEARNING PROGRAMMES @ DPS BANGALORE SOUTH [Std. VII]

We at DPS Bangalore South have always endeavoured to engage our young Dipsites in scholastic programmes that would
develop keener insights, deeper understanding and empathy, and tremendous grasp of ideas and the world. In our
effortless pursuit of enhancing the varied skills amidst our children, we are introducing APPLIED LEARNING
PROGRAMMES that would open a WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES. The ALP would be integrated into the curriculum during
the current academic year. These programmes will facilitate the nurturing and nourishment of your wards scientific
temper, mathematical skills, emotional and social health.

Applied Learning Programme for Std. VII will include the following:

SL. NO. NAME OF THE PROGRAMME AND DESCRIPTION COST

1 THINK LABS 1900/-
For 21st century students, hands-on science learning is a necessity. With this in view, ThinkLABS, a
pioneer and leader in this space, has designed the courseware at its R&D facility in SINE - IIT
Bombay.
This program focuses on conceptual understanding of scientific phenomenon (Physics, Chemistry,
Biology & EVS) through innovative, simple and engaging activities. In this program each child
gets a take away science kit and performs science experiments in the science period (under the
guidance of Science teachers of the school) throughout the year. This program is also fully mapped
to curriculum. The pedagogy approach for this program is based on "Enquiry based learning" that
results in "HOTS - Higher Order Thinking Skills."
ThinkLABS provides all necessary material, kits, content, comprehensive teachers' training and
support; thereby empowering schools to run the program effectively.

2 ASSET 900/-
It is a scientifically designed, skill-based assessment test. Rather than testing rote learning, through
multiple-choice questioning, it focuses on measuring how well SKILLS and CONCEPTS underlying
the school syllabus have been learnt by the student. The test provides information on the strengths
and weaknesses of individual students and also entire classes.
3 NIE [DECCAN HERALD] 300/-
It is an international programme that promotes and increases our childrens literacy by using the
newspaper as a teaching tool. Through the use of daily news, editorial, features and even
advertising, students at all grade levels can learn math and cost comparison skills, geography and
meterology, history and current events and how they shape our world, all while improving reading
and comprehension. The NIE program will be held daily during the zero period and is sure to
motivate and teach students with a textbook as fresh as each days news.
4 SCHOOL CINEMA LIFE SKILLS 400/-

An innovative concept developed by EduMedia, School Cinema is a film-based learning module

combined with a fun and exciting workbook to reaffirm values, morals and equip children with LIFE
SKILLS to deal with everyday challenges.
5 CAMBRIDGE 4000/-
ESOL Cambridge exams have now become a part of our school curriculum and hence we believe that
we should give every child an opportunity to out shine and excel in his/her own way. All levels are
knowledge and age appropriate. Children would be trained and tested on four categories like
listening, reading & writing and speaking skills. All students would receive certificates from the
University OF Cambridge.

We request your sincere cooperation to help foster enriching experiences for your ward. An amount of Rs.300/- is to
be sent as cash and Rs. 7200/- as cheque in favour of Pan School Educational Access to the class teacher on or before
15th July, 2017.
