I am writing to express my interest in the Human Resources Assistant position that was recently
posted to usajobs.gov. I am an active duty enlisted Marine with 10 years of experience, and am
currently pursuing my bachelors degree at Miami University to commission as a Marine Officer.

After reviewing the qualifications and experience require of this position, I am confident that I
meet or exceed everything you are seeking. Administratively I have attended many professional
military education courses that focused on professional communication, writing skills and career
progression. You stated in the job posting that computer skills were vital to the potion. I have
vast experience in multiple computer software systems used by the military, including the ones
used by your staff. As an NCO and Staff NCO Ive maintained dozens of personnel files,
ensuring they were in compliance with guidelines of CGI inspections. Additionally I currently
possess a Secret Security Clearance that is valid for another 10 years.

I understand that you are looking for someone who will take the unit mission to heart and aid in
training these young men and women. I can assure you I am the person for the job. I believe
that my years of military knowledge and experience will bring an added dynamic to your unit
that a civilian would be unable to provide. Having served next to the same young men and
women who make up your unit over the years allows me to relate to and understand their current
situation as a midshipman. I have spent many years training, mentoring and working along
junior Marines and can provide valuable insight into the lives of the Marines that your students
will on day lead. I can remember my junior Marines telling me that I would have made a great
Marine Officer, so what better than to bring my experiences and knowledge to your unit?
