CHD LAKAN AND LAKAMBINI 2010

Do you have what it takes to be the next CHD Lakan and Lakambini?

These are the words that open the screening phase of the Lakan at Lakambini pageant, an
open invitation and challenge to modern young men and women to join and compete in the
another spectacular pageant in PLM, under the College of Human Development.

To reel in the idea Lakan at Lakambini is competent to adapt to the rapid changes of times, the
pageant adapts a fresh new look beginning another academic year 2010-2011. With its
character, the fresher look of the pageant carries a simple but smart and slicker design, with
slender letters, modish and contemporary but still in a hue of rose.

Unlike other pageants, no longer the Lakan at Lakambini that in Filipino connotation denotes a
reserved, old fashioned, overly cautious and conservative maiden and bachelor, the Lakan at
Lakambini is the smart, stylish, sociable and independent man/woman who lives and operates
in todays fast-paced and articulate world of communication technology, capable of riding the
tides of change and more than that, capable of creating his/her own current. Simply bannered
Lakan at Lakambini, the search looks for intelligent, talented and articulate men and women,
possessing a distinctive beauty of face and figure.

PRE- PAGEANT ACTIVITIES (NOVEMBER 30, 1pm, MILC)

I. Talent Portion
Each pair may perform a maximum of 6- minute routine. Maximum of 4 back-up
performers are allowed.

Scoring will be based on:

Originality 45%
Degree of Difficulty 35%
Stage Presence 20%
II. Casual Wear Ramp and Interview
Contestants are questioned on their background as presented on their fact sheet, their
educational and career goals, their opinions on current events and social issues, and their
interests, hobbies and extracurricular activities and one same question.
Scoring will be based on:
Beauty of Face 30%
Personality, Intelligence, Style and Emotional Control 30%
Confidence 20%
Casual attire and interview 20%

III. Announcement of Final 8.

Selection of the final 8 is individually and not by partners.

Mechanics

1. Each block shall have representatives.

2. The participants must not have any current beauty pageant title (National, International, Bb.
At Ginoong Pamantasan, CHD Lakan at Lakambini pageant title holders are not allowed to join
the pageant.)
3. There will be one pictorial session for the final candidates.
4. Each participant should pass their complete profile to the organizing officers until November
30, 2010 (Tuesday) 12:00pm, MILC.
5. All of the participants must be in the venue 1 hour before the start of the contest. Late
participants are subject to 2% deduction of the total scores.
6. To get the top 5, the average scores of the Sportswear (20%), Formal Wear (20%), Filipiniana
Attire (20%) and Pre-pageant (30%) will be computed and ranked accordingly.
7. The Top 5 pairs will be announced after the Filipiniana Attire Competition and the scores will
be back to zero.
8. For the question and answer portion, the criteria for judging consist:
Intelligence 40%
Beauty of Face 20%
Poise, Style and Glamour 20%
Confidence 10%
Audience Impact 10 %

10. Failure to follow the mechanics is subject to disqualification.
11. The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.
