According to Slack & Lewis, "Operations strategy is the total pattern of decisions which
shape the long-term capabilities of any type of operations and their contribution to the overall
strategy."
MTS have great operation strategies to ensure fast & efficient services. In addition to their
state-of-the-art technology, they have facilities positioned in strategic locations throughout the
world - in America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Currently, MTS has 20 locations in 17 countries,
including one in Bangladesh. These facilities enable them to maintain quick response and value-
added technical service & support.
Modern Testing Services was founded in 2006 and is privately held by Mr. Byung Won
Park. Since, MTS has been a part of several acquisitions and has grown to employ over 500
associates. The management team is comprised of experienced technical personnel from
USA, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan with over 30 years of experience, providing MTS with
a top standard of operations strategies. MTS is in Bangladesh from 2010.

1.4 Purposes of the Report
This report is made for the completion of EM-521: Operations Management course as a
part of our MBA (Evening) program. We have also gathered knowledge & experience
preparing this report.
General Objective:
Study of Operation Strategies of Modern Testing Services (Bangladesh) Ltd.
Specific Objectives:
1. To analyze their market
2. To study competitive priorities & capabilities of MTS (Bangladesh)
3. To study order qualifier & winner for MTS (Bangladesh)
4. To study their service design
We gathered information from both primary & secondary sources. We talked to some
employees of the organization. Our secondary sources are books, online sites & a YouTube
video of the company.
Organizations tend to claim more than they deliver. Employees also try to create an
image that may exceed the organizations operations in practice. Also we had to make this
study in a very tight schedule. We could include surveys of their customers if there was
more time.
