    GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

    High School Subject College Prep Requirements
    Requirements for Freshman Admissions

    World History 10 units - 1 year 1 year "a" requirement - Two years of history/social
    science, including one year of world history,
    U.S. History 10 units - 1 year 1 year cultures and geography; and one year of U.S.
    American Government 5 units - 1 semester 1 semester History or one-half year of U.S. History and
    one-half year of civics or American
    Economics 5 units - 1 semester 1 semester Government

    "b" requirement - Four years of college


    English/Language Arts 40 units - 4 years 4 years
    preparatory English
    "c" requirement - Three years of college
    preparatory mathematics that include the
    3 years Must
    20 units - 2 years topics covered in elementary and advanced
    Mathematics include: Algebra 1,
    (Must include Algebra 1) Algebra and two-and three dimensional
    Geometry and Algebra 2
    geometry.
    4 years recommended
    1 Year "d" requirement - Two years of laboratory
    Life Science 10 units - 1 year Must include biological science providing fundamental knowledge in
    science with Lab two of these three core disciplines: biology
    (which includes anatomy, physiology, marine
    1 Year biology, aquatic biology, etc), chemistry and
    Physical Science 10 units - 1 year Must include chemistry physics.
    with Lab 3 years recommended
    "e" requirement - Two years of the same
    language other than English.
    Foreign Language OR 2 years of same Foreign 3 years recommended.
    Visual/Performing Arts 10 units - 1 year Language other than English
    (VAPA) 1 year VAPA "f" requirement - One year of visual and
    performing arts chosen from the following:
    dance, drama/theater, music or visual art.

    Physical Education 20 units - 2 years 2 years 20 units - 2 years


    Health 5 units - 1 semester 1 semester 5 units - 1 semester

    "g" requirement - One year in addition to


    those required in "a-f" above, chosen from
    the following area, visual and performing arts,
    Electives 75 units **

    mathematics, laboratory science and
    language other than English.
