Improvements in Basketball

Our project is going to be about the improvements and changes of the game of basketball

and the National Basketball Association. We are going to begin at the conception of the league in

1946 to present day NBA. The history of the league is very in depth and there are so many

changes we can explore. We will make a Web 2.0 tool to challenge ourselves and it will be

covering the major changes since the birth of the league. We will span on topics from the

diversity of the league to the addition of the 3-point line, which really took basketball to another

level. We will also touch on the sister league of the NBA, the Womens National Basketball

Association, which was founded in 1996. Also, there have been many rule changes to the league

since 1946 and we plan to cover most of them, as well as the changes in fashion over the

decades. We will cover these terms and much more, to ensure we have made the importance of

basketball known to the crowd.

In our project we plan to do a powerpoint presentation and have artifacts to pass around

class to represent various slides. We will be using google slides, so all we will need is a

computer and google docs. We will obtain most of our information from the internet, but we also

have prior knowledge on this subject. We also will have pictures on each slide to give everyone a

visual representation of what we are talking about. I hope everybody is ready to see a different

presentation because we plan to be very active in this presentation. We will ask little trivia

questions all throughout the presentation to make our peers are paying attention and are engaged

in our presentation. We will speak loudly and make clear eye contact with the crowd, making

sure they know we are passionate about our topic.

This proposal is an effective topic because a lot of people dont even know the history

behind basketball and why it is the way it is. People need to not only know what it is, but they

need to know where it came from and how it changed over the past few decades. They also need

to understand it is much deeper than basketball, for many men it is a way of life. We are happy to

choose this topic, because there is a lot to be educated about when it comes to the game of

basketball. We can go on for days and days about the game of basketball because of the

popularity and how long it has been in play, but we will keep it brief. We will also talk about

how the rules and regulation have changed throughout the years.

For roles and responsibilities, we both will have the same jobs to make sure we craft this

project to its full potential. We will both be leaders, be organized, and always stay on topic. We

will hold each other accountable and always listen to each other for the sake of the project. If we

disagree on something, we will compromise and make sure that we work it out.

For the first part of the project, we will gather information and research our topic

thoroughly. For the next part we will break up the information into different categories and rank

them based on how they relate. Next, we will use our computer skills to fix up a google slide and

edit it with the information we gathered. We will then put all the information we gathered onto

the google slide and make the best presentation. Lastly we will make any final changes before

we submit to teacher. Another thing we are doing is dressing up as if we are actually from the

time period, so we will have costumes.

We will end the presentation giving many improvements happening in todays NBA. We

are both working hard on the project to give you the best presentation about basketball you have

ever seen. We are going to include interactives so the audiences does not zone off and they stay
3

attentive. We will not drown you with pointless information, and we will keep the audience

entertained. We are both two basketball fanatics are we are just trying to better explain the game

we love to others. If someone believes this is not a good topic to discuss, their mind will be

changed by the end of our presentation.
