Classroom Procedures and Expectations: 2017 - 2018
Guiding Principles: Before entering the classroom:
I. Use common sense Positive Attitude! (leave your problems outside)
II. Mutual respect Remove your smartwatch, turn it OFF, and
III. Positive attitude secure it in your book-bag.
IV. We are a team; we win as one, lose as one Remove your cell phone, turn it OFF, and secure
V. Your problems on your time it in your book-bag.
No Gum, Food, or Drinks inside the classroom.

CLASSROOM RULES: Positive Attitude Mutual Respect Common Sense


1. Respect the teacher, other students and yourself in our classroom. Putdowns, hurtful comments, foul language,
or other such actions will not be tolerated.
2. Be on time!
3. Excuses dont work, you do!
4. Raise your hand to be called on.
5. Come to class on time and prepared to work! This means with your work and supplies ready.
6. No candy, gum, food or drinks (soda, etc.) are allowed in the classroom.
7. No cell phones, smartwatches or gadgets are allowed in class. All cellphones, and smartwatches must be OFF,
and secured out of sight inside your book bag. If it is seen, it will be confiscated.
Return of confiscated electronics: two (2) school days waiting period, parent-teacher conference (conferences are
by appointment, and after school only. Electronics will only be returned to a parentYOU HAVE BEEN
WARNED!
8. Pick-up after yourself, including trash, putting desk back into their places, etc.
9. No cheating or plagiarism will be tolerated. You must do your own work.

General Classroom Policies


Homework Homework is an extension of classwork and is expected to be completed and turned
in, as assigned.
Class Participation Students are expected to participate in classroom discussions and activities. If
a student is not participating in classroom discussions, she/he may be missing important ideas.
Bathroom policy: Only in emergencies, if emergencies become habit, a parent conference will be
required to address students needs.
Late work Students will receive a denotation of Z (Incomplete) for any missing assignments
until student work is completed.
IT IS THE STUDENTS RESPONSIBILITY TO STAY UP TO DATE WITH ALL
ASSIGNMENTS, AND/OR REQUEST MISSED WORK.
Academic honesty- Receiving or giving information for an assignment is cheating and when caught
in the act students will not receive credit nor receive the opportunity for a chance of make-up.
Plagiarism is not acceptable: If a student takes information from the Internet or any printed
resources without a citation, it is considered plagiarism and will result in a reduction in grade.
Behavior Consequences:
1. Verbal Warning
2. Loss of Privileges
3. Phone Call or Letter Sent Home
4. Detention
5. Parent teacher conference
6. Administrative Referral
*Instructor reserves to right to escalate consequence without giving notice.
