The department of Applied Mechanics is one of the seven academic departments, which
was established in 1961. AM Department offers specialization (M-Tech) in Structural
Engineering and Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering which consists of two semesters of course work and two semester of project work. The admission for the programme is based on the GATE Score. Structural Engineering branch focuses on advanced level subjects in Analysis and Design such as Theory of Elasticity and Plasticity, Design of Earthquake Resistant Structures. Students are also given choice to study subjects like FEM, Advance Design of Steel structure and Rehabilitation of Concrete Structures.
