ACEH TSUNAMI MUSEUM

B ack in 2004, on December 26th , there was a magnitude 9.2 ritcherscale

earthquake and caused a Tsunami that killed 16 thousands of people
in Aceh, and 32 thousands of people 8 other countries that got hit by the

Aceh Tsunami Museum is a museum that serves as a symbol to

commemorate the earthquake and Tsunami that happened in Nanggroe
Aceh Darussalam.

This museum has several function:

As a historical object
As a symbol of Acehnese peoples power in facing the Tsunami disaster
As a heritage to the next generation in Aceh to know that there was once
Tsunami happened in Aceh.
As a danger reminder of Tsunami that threatening Indonesia

In the museum, the first time we get inside, we

will walkthrough a 40 meters long aisle. The aisle is
given the effect of waterdown from the wall, and
there is sounds of someone reciting the Holy Quran.

After passing the aisle, we will enter

a hallthat surrounded by glasswall that
called Memorial Hall, the hall is
equipped with monitor that can be
used to access the information about

After the Memorial Hall, the next room is

the chimney. The Liht of God, at the peak of
the chimney we can see caligraphy bearing
Allah and on the surface of the wall, written
the names of the victims of the disaster.

Once we get out of the Light of God

room, we will go through the Bridge of
Hope. There are listed countries that
have assisted in the Tsunami incident.
