Requirements You must submit your A4 page of notes one day prior to your essay. Notes but be
written in bullet-point form it is not acceptable to write whole sections of the essay within your
notes.

Further Details

As part of your unit on Perspective and Poetry you will complete a comparative essay, where you
compare two poems, under examination conditions. You will be given a copy of the two poems one
week before the due date.

You will have one week to prepare for the comparative essay including annotating the poems. On the
day of the exam you will be allowed to bring in 1 A4 page (one-sided) of notes only.

Copies of the poems without any annotations will be given to you during the exam. You will have 100
minutes in total to write your comparative essay.

A note on Academic Honesty

As part of this assessment you will be expected to cite ideas as well as quotations. If you have used any
secondary sources to support your interpretation of the poems these must be included within your
bibliography.

You must bring with your notes a works cited page or bibliography. This will be formatted using MLA.
