PR 2 Impact

Training course 29th November -8th December 2016, Iasi, Romania


1. About the project
The project "PR 2 Impact" started from the need of the collaborating organizations to
promote, on a larger scale, the activities they developed and therefore to make a bigger
impact on the community. We have chosen the city Iasi as the location to implement this
project as a result of a small research that pointed out the need for promoting the local ONGs
among the citizens.

The main goal of the project is to increase the impact and visibility of NGOs in the
communities where they implement projects by offering youth workers the tools to learn how
to implement better PR and fundraising strategies.

The project is implemented by Asociatia Devision with the support of 4 international


partners:

Tmaszpont MOP KKA (Hungary);

Comitato d'Intesa tra le associazioni volontaristiche della Provincia di Belluno


(Italy);

Fundacja Instytut Innowacji (Poland);

Unique Projects (Lithuania).

2. Aims and Objectives

To acquire knowledge about types of communication, styles of learning,


formal, non-formal and informal education;

To learn the necessary practical skills regarding ways of promoting the


NGOs, rules of making and transmitting a press release, planning and organization of
an event, how to fundraise and use other communication instruments and
elements/tools that;

Develop teambuilding abilities, PR tools and how to use them (press release,
online and offline media), learning how to plan and organize an event, to analyze
results and to plan a medium and long term PR strategy and attract funds for their
NGOs;
Learning how to create, develop and implement a PR and fundraising
strategy for their NGOs and when getting back home they will have to make such a
strategy whose purpose is to raise visibility in written and online media with 30% in a
3 month period after the project ends;

Developing a proactive attitude regarding participation and active


involvement in the community and promoting the positive impact that NGOs have in
communities lives.

3. Target groups
Youth workers actively involved in a Non-Governmental Organization, with interest and

responsibilities on communication, public relations or fundraising, no age limit.

4. What to bring

We kindly ask you to bring:

Clear information (in English) about the main activities of your organization so that you can
present it at the organizations bazar during the training course.

Map, posters, postcards about your country/region/town to be displayed during the

International Evening.

Some gastronomic specialties (food and/or drinks) for the International Evening. Most
probably the international evening will be in the 2nd of 3d day of the TC. Also, on the 1st of
December it is Romania National Day and a nice opportunity to discover local traditions and
food.
Please note that it is not be possible to cook or heat food at the training centre!

Comfortable and warm clothes, The temperature will be around 2-4 degrees Celsius, it
might snow, so make sure we will have with you appropriate clothes and shoes, you can

Please tell us what size you are because we want to buy T-shirts for all participants.

5. Arrival and departure


You are expected to arrive on November 29th until around 19:00 at Iasi International
Airport, as the seminar starts with common dinner and a getting to know-session after
dinner. We will NOT pick you up from the airport so you can take a taxi or a bus. The airport
is not far away, it is only 8 km away from the city center.
You can take the bus 50 you can check schedule in the attached documents or on our
Facebook group.

Also, you can take a taxi, it should not cost more than 18-20 lei, that means around 5 euros a
ride (you can share a taxi). Here you have a list with taxi companies from Iasi:

If you come by taxi, please ask for a bill.

The departure will be on the 8thth in the morning.


If you decide to come earlier or to depart later, you will be pay for your accommodation.
6. Venue and accommodation
The training course takes place in a nice venue in Iasi called Pleiada Boutique and Spa
Hotel. You can find reviews here:

You will be accommodated in double rooms with twin or matrimonial beds, you will have
free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and minibars, plus tea and coffee making facilities. Minibar is
not included, if you decide to use the products from the minibar, you will have to pay
for them yourself. There's also a spa with an indoor pool and a sauna, but it is not
included in the prize, you will pay for it yourself if you decide to use it.

7. Meals

We will have a fix menu (everybody will eat the same thing) that will be differently each
day. Please tell us if you have any special request (diet, vegetarian diet, health regime) to
announce the hotel staff to provide for you special food.

8. Costs / travel expenses and reimbursement

There is no registration fee. Board and lodging during the training course as well as all
programme costs are covered by our Association. You might need some personal money for
drinks, shoping etc. outside the programme (around 1.5-2 for a small beverage).

Travel expenses will be reimbursed by our organization directly to our partner


organization from each country.
Please make sure you respect the maximum amount of money that we can reimburse. It
will be excellent if you can buy low cost tickets in order to be able to save some money:

Italy: 275 Euros/participant

Poland: 275 Euros/participant

Lithuania: 275 Euros/participant

Hungary: 275 Euros/participant

Romania: 180 Euros/participant

Participants have to buy the tickets themselves and bring/send us all original
documents. As the National Agency just informed us, the reimbursement will then be
done by bank transfer to your bank accounts. Devision Association will transfer the
money for the 4 participants to the partner organization and the partner organization will
reimburse you the money through bank transfer. Thus, please send me you bank account
number in order to prepare all the documents and send the money as quickly as
possible after the training finished.

Unfortunately, we are not allowed to give you the money cash, we asked the National
Agency and they told us that this is strictly forbidden.

During your stay in Iasi, you will not be accident-insured, health-insured and personal
liability-insured by us, so if you want please provide such a private insurance in your own
country and make sure you will bring it with you. Or you have the possibility, for the health
insurance, to ask for the European Health Card which is free of charge and can be procured
from your countries (available only for EU member states citizens)

8. Youthpass

Within the frame of recognition of non-formal learning, participants will receive a


Youthpass Certificate after the course upon their request. Youthpass is an official
recognized tool in order to validate non-formal learning aspects gained during the training.
Through the process of receiving a Youthpass Certificate, participants will also gather
information and methodologies how to implement Youthpass in their own projects. It is
important that, before coming to the training course, participants reflect upon what
competences they aim to develop by taking the initiative to participate to Graphic

9. Program of the PR 2 Impact training course


We will have 8 full days of training and two days for travel. The program is from 10 to 18:00.
All activities will be very practical, we will have many group exercises, activities on the
beach.

You will work in pairs to create a video for promoting graphic facilitation, you will provide
us materials for our blog and you will participate in activities in the community and schools

The schedule might suffer some changes. Participation in all the activities of the training course is mandatory, in order to be able to
accomplish the objectives we have established.

10. Brochure
During our training course we plan to create an online brochure with information about how to promote your NGO. We will start writing this
brochure during the training course and we will finish it after the training course ends.

We plan to develop a blog where we and other contributors from Romania, from your countries and all over Europe can write materials about
NGO communication and promoting and this will be our most powerful dissemination tool.

It is very important that each of you write at least two materials for this blog because we write that in our application form in the
dissemination section.
We also have a Facebook group which is secret, please share there questions/information.
